  1. That's brilliant. Amazing to see the south Asian link
  2. I do a lot of stretching (derived from yoga moves I believe). My physio has given me a routine to do to help with range of motion in my back (which I was struggling with a while ago). It helps relieve tension and makes me feel a lot more flexible too.
  3. Wow, it will he very interesting to find out the results mate. I think I've got Scandinavian, French, German and plenty of home nations in me according to my family!
  4. Warm water and washing up liquid has done the trick with my hardwear. Just cleaned all my kit in preparation for LOLER inspection tomorrow.
  5. Fair play! Having also done a degree I'd say the level 4 makes that look like a walk in the park. I'm also lucky to have a big library of books but boy this course has consumed me and completely taken over my life! Keep up the good work 👍
  6. How on earth do you manage to spare the time to put up these fascinating and very informative posts whilst doing your level 4?! I'm currently doing level 4 too and I don't have spare time to eat properly let alone enlighten arbtalk with so much arboricultural knowledge!!
  7. If there is to be any sort of get together let me know...
  8. I've shared the back of a hi-cap landy for a fortnight with dave in the woods...He's a top lad!
  9. Any more news on this chaps? Need to get it in the diary or the Sargent major will have me booked up for something mundane and boring!
  10. Love it. That is a special piece of wood.
  11. That weekend is fine with me. I'm booking in somewhere for once so that I can actually have a drink!! Don't want shires thinking I only drink diet coke!
  12. You're right there Jon. Seeing as there's rarely anything new to see, the social is the main focus of the day. I might add I do enjoy arb and forestry shows a lot in spite of my scinisism!
  13. Yeah you're right there Steve. I've had some good deals on machinery at shows in the past. Just haven't bought anything recently so i was referring to the 'sundry item' sellers.
  14. I had planned on going and last night decided to work today instead. I felt I'd be better off earning money than going to see what I've seen many times before. With the Internet taking over it has meant that decent 'show deals' don't seem to exist any more.
  15. I followed pauls advice and it has served me very well so far! Great setup.
  16. Adam, 18 months ago I felt like everything was going wrong....illness (burst appendix), body aches and pains (elbows, shoulders and wrists), way I was working (headless chicken) and crap jobs I was taking on etc etc. I made a kneejerk reaction and put everything up for sale. So believe me mate I know how you're feeling. But..... I sat down and made a list of all the things I love and apart from mountains and fishing, everything on the list was tree related! I knew I had to make some changes in the way I was going about things and after a year of working smart and listening to my body I've done better than ever. I'm about to start the level 4 diploma in arb with treelife in sept. I see a future in using my brain as well as my brawn in this industry. from what I have read and seen you have way to much talent to walk away from arb. Best of luck with whatever you do. Pete.
