  12. my old man works for sgn as a first call oprative. the man sat in the van is what they call a first call operative.. its his job to access the situation, moniter it and keep it safe until an engineiring crew turn up, and then moniter it to keep them safe. it is more than a 10 minit job, theyd have to cut the section out, elcrtofuse (plastic weld) a joint fitting in and then test ect.. + risk assesment on arival. the legislation on pipe depths is well covered as already said. good thinking with the tape to try stop the leak.. i remember me old boss hitting a steel gas pipe a few years ago and knocked all his cutters of all round the wheel and just scratched the pipe.
  13. i run mostly husky ground saws because i prefer them. my local dealers are stihl. i run a stihl ms200t climbing saw because husky havnt got anything currently that compairs. makita are good saws but a lack of dealers/ease of parts around here is pants even tho the makita hq is 25 miles up the road. stihl make good brush cutters and clearing saws, hedge trimmers blowers ect and there 4 mix engine sounds plesent to the ear.
