  1. Seconded. 33kg a ramp is way more than you want to be lifting and chucking around just for a tiny loader. Spend a couple of hundred extra if needed to avoid re breaking that collarbone!
  2. Very quick to setup on site, ten minutes to unload and level trailer. I feel that it needs a sub frame, so I had a dig in the scrap pile. Bit twisted but really doesn’t matter for this application. I cut up an oak log maybe two feet (probably less) in diameter and eight feet long. Got myself a 7x7, three 5x4s and a couple of decent boards. Changing from the standard blade to the 1.5” Ripper37 was a revelation. @william127Sorry for the thread hijack, this is all just so you learn from my mistakes 🤣
  3. Thanks. There’s another thread where someone is doing YouTube videos about their failed free surgery business, I was thinking that might be you as failed free surgery businesses is a niche market! You say that more thriving businesses means better pay for everyone. How can this be? The ‘race to the bottom’ is well documented on here.
  4. Are you that dude from the other post who took peoples money for a magazine subscription and then never delivered?

This is great, we can put you in touch with everyone else who just wants bark chippings! Drop a load off and you can pick the wood out and they can pick the bark out. Win win! 🤣 Sorry but it bears repeating, you can’t separate bark and timber when chipping domestic tree surgery waste.
  6. I didnt realise that about the 30am machine. Having looked at the specs, the 30 also uses the cheap nasty torch setup. If I were @swinny, I’d buy the 50 amp and see how far I could turn it up before tripping the breaker! It’s a much better quality machine, and will be fine if you are only cutting 6mm stuff. It’s futureproof for when you upgrade your supply too. one more thing on the compressor side- plasma systems like dry air! R-tech do a filter system which seems to work well.
  7. Mine is on a Hakke pilke eagle. It is belt driven so can slip on them, but often it just seems to chew a hole instead.
  8. 50l is not a lot when plasma cutting. You will need to have spare capacity for both to run at once as mentioned. I have the largest R-tech 240v plasma cutter (cut50) and it’s great. Cuts 12mm easily and I have also cut 20mm without a problem. It really does suck the juice though, you will trip a breaker easily if you don’t have the right wiring setup. I would avoid the cheap lidl type. The difference between them and the better ones is night and day, especially over 6mm. Chinese amps are not the same as r-tech amps! The other thing to consider is the torch. Chinese torches and consumables are a lot more fragile and can be hard to get bits for. The R-Tech and other good brands run the LT-70 torch and consumables, which I think is a version of a Hypotherm torch. It’s a bit like euro vs Chinese mig torches- stick with a standard.
  9. Mine just spins on knotty stuff. It’s an almost brand new cone.
  10. They are no use on knotty timber or big lumps.
  11. Well it all fits in a treat. Totally mobile soloution including loader.
  12. As above, it comes down to flow. A decent pto pump and tank on a tractor will usually be very quick (again depending upon setup) Tractors own flow is variable- from a waste of time on most compact and vintage tractors to hellishly quick on a modern farm tractor, but why tie that up splitting logs?? I usually use a 30l/min power pack with a 20t splitter. This is the 13hp engine- anything less will be 20l/min. It’s quick enough, and sometimes we run some long pipes from the kubota if we are using the circular saw and screw splitter too as it saves fuel. This tractors flow is around 30l/min also.
  13. I have everything from recovery trailer to tri axle tipper and multiple plant trailers, but a lightweight 750kg trailer is perfect for a 550kg loader in my book.
  14. What’s wrong with the trailer? My Sherpa is a perfect fit in the 750kg trailer like that. It’s ideal if you need to take it to site to collect a load of something- leaves the truck free for the muck. Or if you need the Sherpa but also need to take materials.
  15. A customer wants me to mill this for floorboards for a loft in a timber garage. Is not planning on doing tongue and groove. What dimensions should I cut them to and how long will they need to air dry?
  16. Yeah, got an extension. I’m thinking if I need to use the extension on site I could just set it up with a couple of jack legs. basically I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it!🤣
  17. @william127Beat ya to it. First cuts, a bit of yew destined for firewood. Full of shake as it was a wind blow branch but good test. Managed to get it all into roughly inch slabs without hitting any of the mill. Still no clue what I’m doing but it’s a good start.
  18. JCB insurance handle my plant and liability. They were very competetice just for plant too.
  19. Posted on PlantTalk for you. Pretty sure you'll have it sorted by the end of the day. https://www.planttalk.co.uk/threads/newage-85m-wont-shift.3090/

I hope they threw the book at him , but I doubt it 🙄
  21. They did chuck me in a cover so I guess I could use that! But assuming the rails and bunks will rust too. To be fair it's here to be worked.
  22. Yes but no point as will be taking the mill on the tipper and multione on trailer. Im already modifying it- added a second bar so you can pick it up with the forks making it much easier to set on the rails on your own.
