  13. Hi Sloth, Flammulina running up the outside and oyster is also present within the main failure. the whole of the tree is covered in differing fungi, added another couple of pictures below

  15. managed to get a picture at last, its pretty obvious to me now my mistake. The fungi was newly emerged when it was scrached and like other species in this stage of development would appear white and be easily marked. thanks David for posting your pictures and allowing me to get rid of that false assumption. regards Dave

    <p>Hi Martyn, had a word with the powers that be this AM and as i suspected they dont want organised meetings of climbers on campus. N R stated that his comment was for individual climbers only, if you want a reccy climb then the only way is to organise one for yourself which fits with my observation of level 2's or 3's etc. Sorry do be a bore but didnt want you guys running into trouble</p>

  19. Hi David I remember being shown to scrach the upper surface of young fruiting bodies (which i was told where Gano) as an aid to id, is this one of those incorrect assumtions i have carried around for years??? regards Dave
  20. Can anyone shed light onto this bracket being the only common Genus of bracket fungi whose surface turns brown when scrached with your finger nail? Or are their others Dave

  23. Hi Gary, that's a negatory,spotted it a while ago too. You would have spotted the beech had lost a large limb then? The issue is care of duty as has been stated already ,I don't think any of the learners should climb it and you know what I'm like with health and safety lol Dave
