  4. Hi Chaps, College finishes on the 1st of April so I am looking for some work until we go back in November. I am currently studying an ND (3) in Forestry & Arb at Barony College. By April I will have both my CS30/31 and with luck a driving license. I have done 3 weeks work experience with a local Arb firm as well as forestry thinnings with college and other practical work. I worked for Strutt & Parker's Land Agency before I went to college for a year. I am looking for whatever sort of work is available, forestry as well as arb, and am willing to travel as long as the wage covers my expenses. I will work whatever hours I am told to, doing what I'm told to (within the rules/my skills). If you have anything that you think can help you with either email or PM me and I will get back to you ASAP. Thanks for looking Sam [email protected]
  5. I think he meant it as a hypothetical situation. No skin of your back.
  6. £70 is cheap for that complete rig. Some places would want that for the musket alone. I would be shamed if I spent that on anything less than a centrefire!
  7. This one? http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/26020-new-stihl-strimmers-i-didnt-think-they-could-improve-them-so-much.html#post432213
  8. Cold water is great for you. The victorian created tidal baths because they knew/thought it was good for the joints, and apparently a lot of doctor types are looking back at that sort of thing and agreeing with them. It is surprising how warm it makes you feel, and how much clearer your head is afterwards! having said that I have taken a few days of in the winter before... All I will say is try it. Find a pool somewhere and just jump in! Its great for kids as well, and if you are a clever sort can be rather romantic too (not with children... obviously. )
  9. And wild swimming I do lots of canoeing. And cold water swim (In rivers) at least once a day. "Waters the source, it will set you free if you let it." Is the closest I have come to religion.
  10. Multi day wild camping in this Shooting dinner with this And some other stuff that I shall try and get pictures of
  11. I would have thought that a combination would be the ideal. Hardwoods, for planking, firewood, carving, coppice, and whatever and then some Crimbo trees there as a little top up every year. Thats what I would do anyway
  12. At college we have been taught that Christmas trees are one of the best things you can grow in terms of income/work ratio. Am I right in thinking you work on a 7 year rotation Big Fell? Sam
  13. I love the idea. I'm not in a pension type position yet but I really like the idea. Having someone on/near site for doing guided walks, educating school kids or whatever would seem a good idea I think
  14. I've noticed him around about with his shiny new cutandclimb jacket on...
  15. Was that Doug from the Barony college in that video Yve? Looks good though
  16. Discount one vote "Groundsman/forestry, dont suffer" Sorry chaps
  17. Should be so long as I have time off work and the money for a train ticket
  18. Folks sake. Not being funny but who is messed up enough to copy something that literally hold's someone else life. If that fails at the wrong point you got one dead hangdog or arb. This riles me.
  19. If my schoolboy latin is up to scratch then it is a dictated lecture. He says...
  20. Get the Landy mate, worth every bit of the extra money and far superior than both the mentioned above. The only thing you can compare them too is the Ford Ranger/HiLux etc. type pickups, and they still aren't as good.
  21. I have owned two of their rifles at various points, decent muskets both of them, I believe they used to make all the firearms used by the Swedish army at one point I'll try and find some pictures
  22. I am Money is not (really) an issue if this place is as good as it looks!
