  2. sold three loads of logs after cancelling days subbie climbing,earnt more than if id worked!happy days
  3. my turner winch is direct drive,had a very hairy moment when thrust bearing went awol during winching,couldnt stop it pulling for about 5 seconds with the anchors down and attached to large ash,remember getting closer and closer to vertical before clutch bit! (stop cable was broken!,learned valuable lesson there)
  4. supposed to be taking couple of limbs off a poplar for Mendiplogs, but gonna take down instead. Nice Audi by the way Jon,theres no money in firewood!!:lol:

  6. bought job lot of assorted tools,£20,brand new pair of Felco secateurs in amongst em,nice.
  7. I can kind of see where your coming from when the likes of watchdog etc say 'only use AAC', can be frustrating. Personally as a very small fish in the arb pond i would love to see some sort of AA rating for just the quality of your arboriculture,not what sort of businessman you are,i know its probably unrealistic,but would give freelancers/one man bands a boost.
  8. yep,my boy Charley,3,refers to our cord pile as 'the climbing frame',have to watch him like a hawk.
  9. had a bloke ring me up 2 weeks ago,'ive felled 350 spruce,burnt all the brash,but i need the trunks clearing,' i got him to send couple of photos,they were about 6 to 8" diameter,down an embankment and he had left the stumps about 2 ft high,total nightmare to extract! So i rang him back explaining it would be expensive, he says ' oh i thought you would have given me some money to do it for the timber!' MUPPET
  10. have you got transfer box with p.t.o?if not got some spare bits to convert it if ya need.Getting ground anchors fitted?
  11. Ive had o couple of experiences of the old 'i ve not been paid yet so nor can you', not on. your getting someone in to make your job work and your profit,its not fair to get em to finacially underwrite it as well! luckily now i only freelance for good people with good ethics.

  18. nice,i assume its all hydraulic?how does it work,does the rear axle have its own steering box?any pics of workings?cheers
