  2. Are you talking about cordwood or logs?
  3. I got a warning light come up on the dashboard today, its the yellow one on the far right of the dash, i think its the one to show low water level i have checked the radiator and the reservoir, both are full, could it be the sensor? or am i barking up the wrong tree, any help would be great, thanks Egg
  4. now then Tim, welcome aboard
  5. I wondered how long it would be before you came along to look at this Chris
  6. Thank you for being man enough to appologise, appology accepted.
  7. Did'nt mean to start a witch hunt Mick, it was what i felt when i read what he had written, which was'nt big, clever or funny however he ment it to come across.
  8. Nice one, good luck for the future:thumbup:
  9. And its a min of ten bags...then youve got to collect them. I must be doing something really WRONG.
  10. I dont really know what you are trying to say zeroluke, i originate in the north west of the country, dont kid your self that everyone south of Watford gap is loaded, i know lots of lads back home (tradesmen) that earn similar sorts of money as lads down here in Suffolk and dont have any where near the amount of out goings, ie house prices are double in some parts of east anglia than they are in some parts of the north west, so if lets say a joiner in Suffolk is charging £160 a day (i know this is the price i've got one coming to fit a new door for me tommorow)and my mate is charging £150 a day in the north west, my mate in the north west will have more dispossible income at the end of each week. ps and another thing to remember is everyone south of watford gap is'nt a cockney:lol:
  11. Hi Keith where abouts in west Suffolk are you.
  12. Hi jonny, start a thread in the firewood bit as long as you can get it roadside with access for an artic you shouldnt have to much trouble shifting it. as for price it depends if you are buying the standing timber or if you are being paid to cut it and the customer wants to sell the wood.
  13. I have the same problem geoff, dont half fell a cupid stunt at times:biggrin:
  14. Sure is, but Ben offered it at £250 that was his opening gambit.
  15. Back to my post yesterday, how do the lads in Yorkshire who are buying in your cordwood at £45 m3 roadside make money selling logs if you can't get £80 m3 for logs ?
  16. What did it go for in the end?
  17. sounds close enough to me, i dont think you will get anything cheaper than £30 odd quid a week, what other bills will you have on top of the rent ie water, electricity, business rates, insurance these all need taking into account, remember if you are only doing firewood it might be difficult to cover all these costs during the summer months, im not trying to put you off, just want you to know what you are letting yourself in for, remember if you sign the contract on the building and are not earning enough money you will still have to pay the rent until the contract ends.
  18. The haulage was £15+vat per tonne as it came quite a distance which made a total of £1,350 for the lorry load delivered in to my yard.
  19. Just paid £30+vat per tonne roadside for a mix of oak, silver birch and ash.
  20. I really dont know how you Yorkshire lads make any money in the log game, what with cord being £45+vat per tonne roadside, plus haulage at lets say £10 per tonne+vat, and lets say you get 25 tonne on an artic that works out at £64 per tonne....Wow.
