  1. I sell firewood in gloucestershire and am just about out of seasoned wood, ive been looking into ways to keep selling for the rest of this season and am considering kiln dried logs and was wondering if anyone knows of a good supplier? Ive had a bit of a look round and it seems a lot of kiln dried is coming out of eastern europe, aside from the energy wasteage, technical, time and quality assurance issues invloved in buying from somewhere like latvia, it does seem very silly to be importing wood 100s of miles when in live in the middle of a forest. Does anyone have any experience of dealing with these companies or any uk based companies?
  2. I imagine that the 65 refers to pounds, i haven't worked it out exactly but thats about £85 for a cube of properly seasoned hardwood delivered and stacked which i think is a perfectly reasonable. I'm fed up of people making out that im involved in some sort of scam, firewood is my only source of income and i take pride in providing a proper service and quality wood a reasonable rate. Its not like i'm raking it in, i scarcely make what i would if i was on job seekers.
  3. almost everything is managed and sold at tender by the forestry commission and ive never seen a tender less than 500 tonnes, far too much for me im afraid
  4. Im currently charging 65 for 90cm3 delivered in the Forest of Dean
  5. Raising prices wouldn't really help because i really am running very low as a result of losing a lot of stock to a hidden leak. I know seasoned, dry cord doesn't really exist but i cant find anything anywhere that might be suitable, am starting to get a bit desperate.
  6. Does anyone know where i might be able to get hold of seasoned hardwood cord near Gloucestershire? It looks like im going to be a few tonnes short before the season finishes.
