  2. Know then Dave, yes the tools were all marked up, but theres still about 15 hundread quids worth missing, and about a grands worth of copper just to rub salt in the wound:thumbdown:
  3. Hi Garth, theres a guy on here called Cracker (i think) who put up some nice pics of chestnut gates that he makes, i think he was down in Devon.
  4. Called in at my yard this afternoon on the way back from having lunch, yes you guessed it the shed has been turned over, tractor, processor untouched, the only thing that seems to be missing is the tool box and a small amount of copper i was going to weigh in. All the trouble of forcing the doors for a few hand tools? wish i could get my hands on the thieving bastards.
  5. Congratulations, all the best Egg

  12. Your right stevie when i wrote that i thought of what my old man used to say to me, saying that i do allright at my business and a guess you do at yours, so it might sound old fashioned but it works, and were living prove of that.
  13. The fact is this Stevie if the boy wants more money he his going to have to work more hours, if he likes it or not, the same as the rest of us had to when we first started out. I assume you built up your business when you were younger by working as and when required, its just the way of the world when your young.
  14. It may not solve the problem of me time but it will solve the shortage of money(half of the problem solved) until the boy as learned his trade, and it is not unheard off for people to have more than one job to make up a living wage.
  15. No Steve I have sorted my business so that i do alot less hours than i used to, i am not one of the life is hard brigade, but what i am saying is if the boy, wants/needs more money he as got to work for it and Andy gave the boy that chance. If i want shiney new gear i have to work for it and i guess you do too.
  16. I would of expected Andys boy to rip Andys hand off, as the first post says it was the boy moanig about his lack of money Andy offered him a way to make up the shortfall at nearly three times more per hour than his day job. If someone offered me a Saturday at three times my normal day rate i would be there every saturday without fail.
  17. All the best MB hope everything goes ok. ps im now off to bed. good night!!!!!

  21. I would give it a miss mate, youve got alot of work felling, extracting, logging and selling for a 50:50 share of the profits imo.
  22. Hi Likeit, my main business is firewood, the grass cutting would just be for a bit of extra bunce in the summer months. It wont be cash as he wants to pay through is company, and to be fair if he does not like the price i quote, hes more than welcome to go elsewhere. Saying that it would come in handy as all helps to pay the rent on my yard through the summer
