  1. Naff off Johny , it was you who wound me up one evening when you knew i had one or two drinks by saying go and post something controversial. Look what trouble YOU have caused. Shame on you
  2. Ok, this situation as been put to bed once and for all (i hope). We had the Gas safe inspector here today, he passed the new boiler and flue, he all so went around and spoke to the neighbour and told her that all was safe and well So hopefully after three months Karen can get a full nights sleep now, without worrying about the bloody flue.
  3. The chain on my saw goes very tight from time to time, its happened a couple of times in the last week, but on other days it will run fine all day long. Seems to be oiling fine, one tank of oil to one tank of fuel. Any ideas help would be great.
  4. I'm not sure how many tons are there as i have not seen it myself, but the bloke told me there is enough to fill a bulker. The wood is in Ingatestone, i will pm you his details.
  5. A fella i know as some oak for sale, it's all oddball stuff, some of it's in lengths some in rings. He can load into a bulker his end, he's looking for £35 per tonne. if anyone is intrested contact me and i will pass on his details.
  6. I know what your saying about wages up there. I come from Stoke (not lived there for many years though) but £68 less tax, Ni and travel costs and a few quid for lunch and a cup of tea dont leave much.
  7. how far do you travel to work ? do you use your own car/van to get there ?
  8. Eggs, I think you need to understand the nature of forums. People often sign up to ask one question, get what they want and rarely visit again. Hi Steve, i wasn't talking about people who pop in now and again to post to get an answer to a question or to ask which is best, Stihl or Husky i was refering to some of the long standing members of Arbtalk. I'n not entirely sure your motivation behind the post, but its quite ironic that you chose yesterday to make it, which was a record day on several counts My only motivation for the post, was that i have spoken to a few long standing members over the last few months either on here in the chat room or on the phone and a few of them have said they are not posting as much. and when i asked why, all off them gave the same answer.
  9. I've noticed over the last few months that alot of our fellow Arbtalkers (some alot more long standing than myself) aren't posting a great deal anymore. Wether starting threads or responding to one. I think Steve and some of the Mods do a great job. please dont take this the wrong way (Mods) Are we getting board of the "same old" chat ? I know the down turn in work gives us (i'm not an arb man/person) less to talk/chat about. I'm only a mere firewood merchant. your thoughts please.
  10. Your spot on, the yard i take my scrap to as number plate recognition system, receipt comes off the pay out till with my name, address and w/c licence number on, no smart water test that i know of
  11. Thanks, my point is. I do quite alot of scrap when other things are quiet (we all have to get a living). And yes i do have a W/C licence. I also have a very good friend that is a Gypsy, and he's a very good business man. Neither of us would ever dream of stealing to get a living. Don't tar, (excuse the pun), everyone with the same brush.
  12. can you find a link to your original thread, please ?
  13. 12 volt swing lift, but you will have to make something up to stand it on, as you won't get the height to lift a m3 bag on to the trailer.
  14. No wind here, and to bloody warm for any good log sales!!!!
  15. You need to speak to hullsmillfarm on here for your kindling.
  16. Thanks all, for your kind words, it's a tough one but life goes on, as they say.
  17. just had a call to tell me that a good mate of mine collapsed and died last night. He was only 48. And to look at him you would of thought he was as fit as a butchers dog. RIP pete (Dicko) Dickson.
  18. Did mine last night, better late than never. Keep up the good work,Steve.
