  1. It works well In the summer months, pubs, garden centres, vineyards, garden centres, all sorts of place let vaners stay a night or two, many turn a blind eye if you want to stay for a month, these ghettos you talk of I’ve seen but they are few and far between, most camps of a small size I’ve pulled on are well kept places.
  2. Unfortunately not, I got moved on earlier in the year, I was on a smallholding with consent from the lady who owns it, in fact she wanted me there as a bit of extra security. The council got wind of me being there and kicked off, they didn’t say much to me but they served notice on her to get me off. Bully boy tactics by the authorities, threatening her with all sorts of nonsense that never would have stood up in court, alas her bottle went so I left to save her stressing. I wish they had served notice on me, I’d have had my day in court and possibly got retrospective PP. there was enough livestock there to warrant having someone on site full time. Note: horses don’t count as livestock according to the law. It just goes to show how skewed the law is, if travellers pull on Tesco car park the council serve notice on them, not Tesco, but it’s the other way round if you can’t claim being an ethnic minority.
  3. If the authorities didn’t keep moving people on! Why not leave people alone if they are no problem and leave no mess. Rural pubs (that have car parking space) are quiet at this time of year, and after New Year) they could do with the extra revenue and full time van folk could do with somewhere to park through the winter months, but no, keep moving people on while in a housing crisis rather than approve pubs, and any other venues that have space to cover winter?
  4. Nah, I don’t play with the big boys.
  5. Classic Newton, classic.
  6. Most would accept taking drugs on site is a no go, not ever, but how far do you push it? I got chucked because I shared a joint at a funeral, piss tested on the job and lead down to the car park , was I off my head on site, was I feck!

    Welding

I’ve got a camper that needs some welding around the gutter rail, the bloke who did the cills and wheel arches isn’t happy doing the gutter due to the insulation catching fire, it won’t! I’ve been down this route before with my the living van, no one wants to touch it. Are there any decent welders out there that can do the job? Don’t mind travelling.
  8. Nope, free to stay if you use the pub.
  9. Camped out in my new/old camper this week in the Peak District, £5.50 for a pint of Guinness and a bowl of stew n bread rolll.,does it come any cheaper?
  10. I bought a lil ol’ camper last week, the quotes I was getting were ridiculous. I ended up with a decent quote from A-Plan, now Howden insurance using their Thatcham office. Don’t know what they are like for paying out should it be needed mind.

    HS2 Over

It doesn’t matter the amount, I copped a tax bill yesterday, not a massive amount but it fecks me right off paying it when I see the waste of OUR money.
  12. That’s a blast from the past, our middle kid had a stint selling them. It didn’t last long…
  13. Pressure washer, I’d go for a secondhand Honda with a decent pump before I’d buy Karcher. Couple of hundred quid should buy a decent little washer for your needs.
  14. On site work the industrial cleaners used Numatic wet & dry vacuum cleaners. No idea on price.
  15. Where’s Old Oak Common? I’ve worked London for many years and never been there, doubt many Londoners have either,,shambles that was supposed to terminate at Euston?
  16. Probably because the people who own part of the ground gave his garden bridge the royal ‘feck orf.
  17. The question is, why didn’t they?
  18. My thoughts exactly, trying to blame a handful of protesters for a multimillion overspend is stupendous. It’s the same with any big project in this country. Look at Boris’ garden bridge, was it near on £60 million for a bridge that could never go ahead, the proposed site for one of the piers was never for sale, and this was made clear from the outset.
  19. Evening Matty, I don’t know if it’s right. It was posted on a FB page by someone local to the area.
  20. The single rear wheels would put me off. I guess it depends on what work you do and where you need to get the van in/out of.
  21. I’ve just been reading elsewhere that this kid who’s alleged to have done this didn’t fell it, apparently he damaged it and a tree surgeon felled it to make it safe at the request of the council. Don’t know if that’s correct or not. Little tw@t still needs a slap if he did damage it mind.
  22. Build things on schedule and on budget. HS2 (to mention one) is a shambles that’s massively over budget and overdue. Discuss…
