  1. I don't expect it back, if I do get it back it'll be a bonus. I always paid my eldest brother back when I was a young'en.
  2. He got chucked because he got above his station.
  3. He's a prick (I can call him that) he made a fortune in Australia then blew the lot. But he's one of ours.
  4. My brother, I'm the youngest of three, he's the middle one.
  5. I've taken a loan rarther than spend my own few shillings, our kid, the one I don't like a lot rang today to tell me he was on his arse,so I've sent him some money, , am I cracked?
  6. And I'm the thick Cnut...
  7. Yes, Santander sent an email that I had to sign, like one of those hand held things that couriers use, scribbled rather than signed.
  8. He's thicker than shit, just listen to him now.
  9. lets get to the bottom of it, you don't like the folk who partake in mounted hunts, if their hounds weren't killing foxes the terrier lads would be on it anyway. My only objection is blocking bolt holes. Do you have anything to do with people who keep livestock?
  10. What, folk shouldn't ride horses in the countryside, folk shouldn't hunt pest/vermin/food for the plate.? The arrogance is spewing out of people who think that way. Don't like it, don't live in the countryside.
  11. I put my application in on the 4th of this month. Not to shabby.
  12. Weighed and paid, took a few days. Just got to pay it back if needed.
  13. Did anyone mention mixed messages?, the likes of screwfix (not diy stores) are open because there is a need to keep tradesmen in supply so they can carry on working. How's that work on bigger sites when folk are mingling with each other?
  14. I recently got some Vibram Extreme in brown, sturdy and lightweight.
  15. Somehow missed this Ratty, I've banked it now mind.
  16. Cue @kevinjohnsonmbe.
  17. Same way of thinking from two totally different blokes, I'll be damned!
  18. You are correct, point scoring isn't the way to go, Starmer seemed to ask genuine questions when him and Johnson came face to face the other day, Johnson won't be able to bat him away like he did Corbyn, he's way to smart for that. Times like these we need to pull together, whatever party we support.
  19. It's not about being scared, I was proper sickly a few weeks back, I'm not just saying that, there is a forum member that came to see me (probably not the best idea), I was shaking and sweating, this was days after the worst of it. I don't know if I had this poxy virus but I don't normally do ill. I'll give it a wide berth for now and let those who want to crack on, crack on.
  20. Yes, I too used to collect logs along the way, I burnt much more coal mind There is only a couple of reasons to be in town on a narrowboat, you can't go any other way, or you're running short of beer.
  21. I guess we all judge risk differently, I'm also not fat, old or have health problems. I'm choosing to try to keep it that way.
  22. To an extent I agree with you, and I haven't done a great deal different, that said I usually work on my own and I'm used to wearing a mask or BA due to the environment I work in. I wouldn't fancy going into a factory with hundreds of other folk mind.
  23. It seems the country is split in two halves, those who want the lockdown lifted this weekend and those of us who've still got a f&@£:&g brain.
  24. I'd like to know who burns logs on narrowboats, most everyone I know burns coal because they simply don't have the space to store logs. A half decent permanent mooring in London is somewhere between £15 and £30k a year (I'm not joking) and about as big as a postage stamp, that's why I never went down there in my boat. In comparison my mooring in the Midlands cost £30/week and included a parking space, room for a shed and a small garden. Oh, and by the way, you aren't a boater if a) you buy a boat and use it as a flat on the water, and b) you haven't fallen in the cut on many occasions.
  25. I'm not sure I'd want my Mrs going back to teach kids at the moment, the little darlings seem to be carriers but rarely affected by the virus. I'm guessing that risk assessments will be put in place?
