  6. Roght so in the running is the rtec 180 inverter mig and the clarke 205te turbo welder Clarke is 580 but no euro torch. Can take a 15kg roll. Built in stand and wheels etc for bottle to sit on. Rtec is 480. Euro torch etc but no stand so add approx 60-70.00 Quite a bit of fabrication to do and welding up to 8mm My friend has the clarke and really likes it. Are they both man enough and where would you put your brass? Rtec looks nice and portable in ita favour
  7. Love that subject dOnt you
  8. Imagine the sales pitch Ian. Yes the machine is 10500 plus vat 12600 inc. This is a great machine but do bear in mind after a year it will have depreciated by 40% = 5040.00 on the inc vat price. Imagine the sales drop then. Only the rich and famous would buy them to write off against tax lol
  9. Yes load of boll0cks to me. Cant stand it
  10. 40% haha my arse. More like 25% then 10% per anum Not one rule for one and one for another thats just bull
  11. So a 2 yr old machine knock 600 off more than that i say But anyhoe if theyve gone up new price then so have the second hand ones

  14. Sounds good! Is it a stand alone splitter? Asin that its table is not on the ground? Tried looking on m large website but no decent pics of the splitter unless im doing it wrong
  15. Cheers will have a look. Do you run a hyd one or pto? Im looking for a splitter for only short stroke up to 12" logs for fast cycle. Think pto is the way to go
  16. Ok what if a company is only one man. Does a good standard of work. Needs a man for the day to do same work whatever it is and clean up like needed. Thats just a normal day of work. Nothing to need an award or to wear a cape for I do agree. A company is only as good as its workers. Whom should get paid a decent rate. All should work hard and have fun! Thats all i want
  17. I must admit i dont do a lot of freelance climbing now but when i do i class it more as a day off. Thats how it feels at times to me. No stress or anything to think about. I know i can turn up do my job spot on, have a laugh and go home. Nice once in a while.
  18. Problem with this subject is there is too many variables and people talking from different angles of the spectrum
  19. Been in this position many a times. Rough with the smooth is how it was
  20. Its the company that sets the mark not the subbie. If they went above and beyond im sure it would be noticed We are talking freelance here anyhow not bonefide sub contractor
  21. How is a freelance person there to improve a business.... A freelance person is there to work to and up keep the standard of the company just like any other worker onsite wether employed or freelance. The business would still work to a certain standard
  22. How long are extension pieces without being greedy?
  23. Do you mean the extenable boom on the end if so its flat sides and round top and bottom. Theres a hole there also which is why i thought about extensions. Will see what i want to do yet. May keep or may get shut for a timber trailer... not something that comes out every day though
