  7. i was under the impression a knot was fine as long as you left a longer loop? so the knot itself does not interfere with the ~VT please correct me if i'm wrong there..

  10. why is a splice the right tool and a knot the wrong tool? there's nothing wrong with a knot at all.....

  12. enough to notice on a 200t have just down sized and the saw is much better balanced..
  13. have got a 17m and a 28m as well as the good 45 tachy... the only reason the 17 and 28 isnt a 45 was a mouse had breakfast...needless to say there is a new storage policy here, have to say the shorter lines are great, use them as a twin rope set up or single for small bits.. havent broken out the tachy yet,, shiny new VT system courtesy of rich to play on too..

  15. if i already had a tractor, then i'd have bought a PTO machine for sure,, as for road tow, depends on your needs,, If i had the money i'd be getting something that comes with a beefy little fella to do all the work,, as it is i'm happy that i've bought a riko, there's enough of them on here, going on the gouge in my head where i caught it they're heavy built to last.. bring it on... chipper arrives tomorrow...

  18. my accountant told me to only register for VAT if going to turn over 50k + swmbo is vat registered, at present i am not... dont forget if you are vat registered you'll have to start charging vat too...i think..

  21. i'm in exactly the same boat,,, ordered a riko A11V SB this very afternoon, had a play at capel manor, chris and the team are super professional and friendly,, job done..
  22. didn't get the riko,,, the weight was an issue, as was the width.. 90cm doesnt lend it self to garden paths.... and at 250kg.... so i got something else...with more power..
  23. am even going to have a paint job me thinks.....
  24. agree with what you say entirely rupe, I started rock at 7 years old, did winter too from 17-24ish,, then had a little break,, reckon the rock hindered me a little with the transition to trees..
  25. tis ok steve,, have made my choice.... will be in the wee chipper gang as of thursday..
