  1. i have a 230,,, it is a great little saw for using around the chipper, snedding etc,, i was going to get rid of mine but the boys convinced me to keep her,, she's on a 16" bar at the moment,, once this chain is dead she'll be dropping to 12" and we'll be flying,,, although it's not a "pro" saw it is what it is.... and for the money i'd say go for it,, esp if you're going to be giving it to groundies that don't respect your kit, dink the floor etc etc ..

    Sexy girls

    false advertising......
  3. really like the sign apologising for the inconvenience,, great touch.. cones,,,, do we have them in cornwall??
  4. "My point being that the arb brand could be the same quality as the outdoor brand, with the help of the outdoor brand. It would be a business transaction. " trust me,,, the only way it usually happens is when a factory rips off the design,,, it usually ends up in court,,,
  5. i've to see an outdoor brand make their jackets with orange shoulder panels and use oilskin materials,,, ( am not saying the clark one is like this,, more the stihl/ husky ones) as far as sweatshops,,, nothing to do with me,, i do know my patagonia microdown jacket is made entirely from water bottles though:001_tt2: you'll find the big outdoor brands protect their designs, the brands i have worked for take copying VERY seriously,, i could bore you for hours with stuff we did to deal with copying etc etc..
  6. sorry,,, just to clarify here,, i was NOT slagging the clark jacket,, i've never seen it, let alone tried it
  7. have got the apple,,, 7 inch x 2 foot, been on the ground for 4 months..

  9. i was only using berghaus as an example as i wasn't sure everyone would have heard of the other brands,, I wouldnt buy berghaus either.
  10. sorry yves,, i was not putting down arb brands/ stores like yourself,, i was aiming more at,,, would you buy a chainsaw made by berghaus?? no you wouldn't,, so why expect a chainsaw brand to make a great waterproof,,,

    Tall Hedges

i have access to a VERY tall groundie....
  12. i'd stay away from arb companies and use a brand that specialises in outerwear,, climbing brands even better mammut, arcteryx, mountain hardwear and patagonia are the 4 i'd choose budget depending personally i'm using a couple of Idiom jackets, goretex with no stitching, superlightweight, the cuffs dont let any water in, the fit is hi cut for harness BUT,, they aint cheap..
  13. this is SO true,,, get it checked,,, are you taking joint supplements? having broken most bones and screwed bothe knees and back i can vouch for getting it all checked and sorted...
  14. ok smart arse,,, two lock ups... and you'er on the clock,, only got time to do one,,, either way you're missing my point,,,
  15. WOW!!! dean your dog's got a bite on it...
  16. frank,,, to be honest,, if it looks a little untidy that could go in your favour,,,, look at it this way,, if you were knocking somewhere off and you were confronted with two containers,, one with a shiny new proper F OFF lock and the other with a rusty old squire,,,, which one would you go for??
  17. ohh well done mate,,, beers on you then..
  18. why so desperate for this??? surely you can get a good mewp for less.... mogs arent the be all and end all,,,,, unlike helicopters..
  19. this is a good start,,,, can i ask how old you are?
  20. and be prepared to publish it yourself,,, the market is tiny, compared to a "normal" book... all i'm trying to say is, don't get your hopes up, and get ready to shell out yourself for publishing..
  21. good luck bean man,,, too many vowels in your name though...
  22. knowledge is one thing,,, teaching is another,,,, do you enjoy the knowledge or the passing it on??
  23. it doesn't matter how many pairs a distributor has had returned,,, your boots have failed, within warranty period (12 months) you are entitled to replacement or repair. the fact they say "only 20 pairs in the last year" means absolutely f all,,,it's a cop out from them and they'r etrying to wriggle out of it,, hold your ground,, say it doesn't matter, and ask what they're going to do to solve your warranty issue.. if you need the "sale of goods act" then shout,, i'm used to dealing with this poop from brands,,, (this was part of my old job)
  24. sorry hammer-die-hard i didn't read the whole thing,,, been an excercise in self restraint,,, thought i'd try jumping in,,, back fired at first go.. great minds,,,,, i'm honoured.. hehe
  25. "Were Climbers better 15 years ago?" nope,,, just "different" times change and technology changes along with style, H&S protocols etc.. so not really fair to compaire
