  2. fair enough...
  3. could you not bash it on yourself? i'm doing mine with a mixture of LR instructions and youtube...
  4. a D3? you should do it yourself,,, best way to learn about your landy is to take it to pieces...it'll save you a fortune...
  5. ah but your 90 can't carry 7 people,, in comfort.... from here to the alps and back.....at 30 mpg.....
  6. so,,, here's the plan, 1.split charge system and second battery- optima yellow top.. normally this would cost region of £450 . plan on it being done for under £50, my pops is a sparky and has sourced most of the bits i need, also have anderson connectors for rear. 2. winch mount,, this is an OEM part made by WARN for LR,, it's an external mount as i reckon having a hidden one in this game is asking for trouble, maintenance would involve removing the front every time. 3. replacement bumper. managed to get one for £20. it's black but as most of it will be cut off who cares... this is the bit i'm on now. coping saw and a ruler.. 4. sump guard. managed to find one in a stealer for £50.. lightly used but again,,, who cares.. if i got this all done by LR it'd cost over £2500.... i should be coming in at under £700.... more pics to follow...
  7. there was a "traveling " outfit down here called "cutting edge".. it wasn't you was it? 3 transits with caravans.... :-)
  8. so it's begun, am fitting the winch to the D3,,, expect chaos for a few days while i try to figure it all out, so far, grill and lights are off, at present fighting with the wheel arches.. will update with pics along the way..
  9. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJA3J--g_yI]YouTube - How "NOT" to pull a truck out of the mud (FULL CLIP)[/ame]
  10. mines a slightly heaped load,, but by the time i get to the end of the track it's level.... as stevie says,, i am backing up the logs until i get a full days work delivering,,, already had one,, another one on the way..
  11. ironbark has hit hte nail on the head here,, if you want a MUD tyre then the MUD terrain will be great, but don't expect any magic in the snow/ ice,, grabber at2's are M+S rated,, good in snow and i use them on the D3 with no problem,, good on fuel and not too noisy..

    Jokes???

  13. depends,,, on the hotel job i'm not allowed to make any noise before 9:30,,, and i have to be quiet by 4.30 to that dictates the day,, but if i'm working on the south coast then i'm out the door by 7.30....8.30 if tommer has to come from his place :-) travel IS work too,, it all counts..
  14. sorry but if you have to ask if you should be employed or self employed then you probably aren't ready to go self employed... if you are employed, someone makes the decision for you,,, if you are self employed, then it's YOU,, just you.. the fact that you are asking has answered the question ...
  15. i just turn "rock crawl" on,,, it self levels... don't even notice the side slope..

    Jokes???

Two Polish hunters from Cleveland hired a pilot to fly them to Canada to hunt moose. They bagged four. As they started loading the plane for the return trip home, the pilot tells them the plane can take only two moose. The two Poles objected strongly, stating, "Last year we shot four moose, and the pilot let us put them all on board, and he had the same plane as yours." Reluctantly, the pilot gave in and all four were loaded.. Unfortunately, even at full power, the little plane couldn't handle the load and crashed a few minutes after takeoff. Climbing out of the wreck, Stanislaw asked Wladek, "Any idea where we are?" Wladek replied, "I think we're pretty close to where we crashed last year."
  17. as tommer said,, my drivers door was properly stoved in atthe local garden centre, right under their cctv,, they didnt want to know,, even the police could not make them give over the footage,,, copper menttioned it was probably them who did it,, needless to say i now shop elsewhere, and yesterday in sainsburys i caught a taxi driver opening his door onto mine again,,, i confronted him,, he denied it,, even though my 8 months pregnant wife said the same thing,, so i slammed his arm in the door,,, :-)
