  1. i would say that either of those saws are more than what you need,if they are going tobe sat for a couple of months at a time, would seem like an awful waste of money to me, i would go down the route of a semi pro/farm saw, just my opinion tho

  5. buy good kit once, buy crap kit 4 times,try and go for a good stihl blower/hedge cutter, i know its hard when starting out but will save you £££££'s in the long run, good luck
  6. ive had many a dolmar,great saws, i think the dcs on makita saws stands for dolmar chain saw, you wont go wrong with a makita,its a dolmar with a blue jacket on, and for your needs would be perfect imo,good luck

  9. heavy old saws, but i love them,ideal for ringing up, £150-200 if its good
  10. stihl or husky , personal choice really,i like both, get your dealer to arrange a demo

  12. great saws, my 2156 is a real ripper, and my old 2077 a real beast in hard wood
  13. ITS A DOLMAR WITH A COAT OF BLUE PAINT, get one , not sure about dealer back up tho
  14. thats a good one mate, noted, mowers ar fairly quiet, but leaf blowers can be noisy, ill put that in method
  15. thanks all, reckon i can do my own method,outline what i will be doing, any hazards, use of barries by paths etc, forgot to say thay client is owner of residential care homes, so will put in the method about being polite to residents(goes without saying) ensure that no one is in 25m of me when im strimming etc, fuel is stored correctly, nothing left on paths etc/trip hazards,....anything else i can add ??
  16. forgot to say that my work is landscaping,regular mowing,strimming etc
  17. client wants me to provide a safety method statement,i am a sole trader and rarely employ people for more than the odd days work here and there, what is the best way to go about about this as the forms etc ive seen ,appear to be aimed at companies with numerous employees etc, any help would be great, cheers

  19. as far as i can tell the pulley only runs aux belts,not cam belt
  20. found aux belt on the ground,investigated and noticed pulley had shifted,engine is running fine
  21. not cam belt, aux belt,ie alternator etc
  22. my mate has a problem with the crank pulley,ie the pulley has slipped and moved inwards,no engine noises and hasnt caused any damage other than a broken belt, he has been quoted a £1000 to fix ?? anyone had similar problem and did it cost this much ?? seems a lot to me
