  1. We had a timber wagon come in today to remove some oak off site and he was telling me he might have to sell his wagon and get a job because he's struggling because of fuel prices. He leaves home at 4 in the morning and gets in at 8pm. He reckons there is loads of timber being processed and and the mills are screaming out for it but the fuel cost is crippling him, sad to see.
  2. Ne bother haven't used one myself mate was just a thought incase you were thinking of buyin one.
  3. Not sure if it's any use to you mate but I think you can get a machine (don't know they are called ) that's more of a corkscrew which grinds clippings etc up might last a bit longer. I saw one on the side of a chipper years ago think it was called landforce chipper or something.

  7. I love a drink but agree with you lads I put a lot more money in my motors than my belly but the tax on drink wouldn't cover fuel taxes and all the dole warriors would get extra money for the rise in alcohol so we'd be back to square one haha

  14. I've just moved so my Internet isn't connected yet I'm on my IPhone but I will pass him your email address on. I think he's going free lance next week, he's doing a bit of teaching aswel as the climbing he's a top climber and top lad. He's a scowser but don't let that put you off haha

  17. I have a mate who is going freelance soon mate has all his own gear and drives etc. Very competent and knowledgeable if you have use for him occasionally?
  18. I've had a little tingle through a conifer branch mate was very light but still a tingle
  19. Thought so mate. My mate cleared a HV line to spec once and when he was finished I leant on a branch of that tree when talking to him and I got a static shock from the tree scary stuff!
  20. I think even I light shock is enough to alter your heart beat too and it can kill you later
  21. Oh dear someone doesn't get valentines day cards haha. We didn't bother my lasses dad died this time of year so she doesn't enjoy it, I agree though mate I'm a soft bugger all year
  22. When instead of being on facebook prevuing on lasses photos who you don't even know you are on a mostly male site talking about trees and chainsaws and the only cheating you do is when you cross the line from stihl to husky or vice versa
  23. Do you lads use hand winches a lot? And what situations are they great for don't mean sound thick just genuine advice. I've never felt the need for one apart from windblown etc.
  24. That's because you have climatised to the southern temperatures mate I remember the first time I worked down south walking round in a t shirt in winter they thought I was the local weirdo haha
  25. The ones I got had the gaff I'm used to in the end mate so I'm over the moon. I haven't used them yet but know they will be bang on can't work out why they are so much cheaper than the rest?
