  1. What you moaning about, you have a least 1mm fully treated there. It is pretty poor isn't it.
  2. Am I right in thinking that treating with tanalith is tanalizing and treating with anything else is just pressure treating, but the process is the same?
  3. The process is exactly the same. Just depends what they use to treat it as to whether its tanalizing or just pressure treating. Looks like me and you finally agree on something Sam:thumbup1: Knew it would happen sooner or later.

Mr eagle eyes is at it again.
  5. You need to be proactive with it. You could easily find yourself with more free toys than you know what to do with. You need to organise it in the right way though. Dont just wait to be approached. Pm me if you want to know how i've arranged this for businesses in the past.
  6. Depending on how rough your area is, you might know them as drugs bags.
  7. Hang it all up. If you leave it in your bag it may be damp. Some things degenerate in uv too so somewhere out of direct sun is best.
  8. Calling him a dodgy commercial body builder is a bit harsh too. IMO
  9. Think thats the most powerful one they do isn't it. :thumbup1:
  10. I've been really lucky, known the guys for a while. I can pretty much walk in, pick up whatever I want and stick it in the van. Dont even sign anything or leave a deposit these days. They know I look after tools and I know they will give me a good deal. Perfect:thumbup1:
  11. Like I said mate, I've only used combi a couple of times. I personally prefer the individual tools, but i'm just old fashioned. I think it prob depends on which engine you get, they used to do various powers. Which model are you getting mate?
  12. At our local hire place, a day is 24 hrs. Like you said, start early and crack on. We used to use it all day and take it back the next morning. Used to charge every customer a portion of the hire cost, plus our usual hourly rate, plus a little bit to cover the fuel.
  13. Just my thought mate. I have only ever used a combi a few times, in my opinion it wasn't as good as the dedicated machines i have. I know what you mean about only having one engine to maintain, look at it the other way though, if you get to a job and that engine doesn't start, its not just one tool you cant use, its all of them. If that machine breaks, all your tools break:thumbdown:
  14. Its a slippery slope. One minute you are a normal bloke taking a few pics, next thing you know you have turned into Hama:laugh1:
  15. Thats what I did too. Not sure about the price per inch, but def make em wait till you can hire machine and do a whole day.
  16. Planning on invading a small country mate?
  17. Not a big fan of multi purpose tools. I'd rather have a few tools all properly designed for the purpose i'm going to use them.
  18. Sounds more like it. Remembered its the radius not diameter used for calculation now then mate:001_tt2:
  19. He certainly should be:thumbup1:
  20. Cool, no probs then. I was under the impression you couldn't use the term company unless it is actually a company (ie set up as an incorporated company). Turns out this is a bit of a grey area and although it is an offence to write Ltd or Co etc after your business name, nobody really knows the ins and outs of merely calling a business a company. I see what you mean about the common meaning of company, but at the end of the day, its not a company, just a partnership. Companies House have got a huge amount of information on the matter if anyone is interested.
  21. Cool truck, I know what you mean about the Cabstar, I was driving an empty one round in the snow and ice of earlier this year. Was great for pretending to be a rally driver, but not too safe. Just a thought, sorry to be critical, but its an offence to imply the business is a company, if its only a sole trader/ partnership business. Not that anyone really cares I suppose, just thought it was worth mentioning.
  22. There's no point telling us funny stories of people falling in. Thats what your head cam is for. Forget the tree work and posh rigging. Film people falling in the water next time.
  23. Yeh, see what you mean. worked really well though didn't it. No possible speedline/ rowing boat vids coming soon then?

Thanks mate. I was just thinking, if its not a van that will earn money, by the time he's bought it, insured and taxed it, fixed it when it goes wrong and fueled it, he may as well give the bloke £100- £150 a month to sort himself out some wheels. Still end up being cheaper.
  25. Glad you took my comment in the way it was intended mate:thumbup1: Thought it was a really good vid. How far away from the leccy wires was your speedline? In some shots it looks miles away, in others a lot closer.
