  1. Not caused by a single accident though mate. Years of poor work position or pooly choosen kit. Maybe thats the difference.
  2. We know you do, your card design is the first design, on the first page, of the first set of square edge cards. Lazy bugger.
  3. I agree, partially. Couldn't agree more with your capitalisation of REALISTIC. However, forget turnover, show me the profit. I think that firewood is a very easy business to be a busy fool in. You could work full time, processing and delivering, and probably always have a big handful of cash in your pocket, however, would this actually be enough. If you started on budget, maybe yes, if you threw 40 grand at it, probably not. Like some peoples thinking on this thread:thumbup1:, I threw one business related term (ROI) into the mix, and as if by magic everyone started talking like business men, and not just woodcutters. I knew there were business men in here somewhere, just had to tease them out of the woodwork with a few abbreviations.
  4. Fungi books, YAWN.................. Get yourself some marketing books mate:thumbup:
  5. I'd be writing exactly what I thought of them in Glyphosphate, on their front lawn.
  6. Think people are underestimating the skill involved to make a shot like that. At those kind of distances, with the bullet in the air for 3 seconds, the elevation adjustment he would have had to make, may well have meant the target was barely even in his scope, when the shot was taken. If it was, it would have been nowhere near centre. As others have mentioned, the calculations for a shot like that are no joke either. Obviously head shots would have impressed more, but hey, you cant have everything. Not interested in joining the more political side of the debate.
  7. Completely agree with Dean regarding the use of per hour calculations. Per annum calculations serve no useful purpose in this instance. Dean, your comments about people conducting bad business have got me thinking. This is no way a pointless dig, so please hear me out. You seem to have huge respect on this site and have your head screwed on from what I have read but, i'm not sure i'd take criticism regarding business from someone who openly admitted making a profit of c £20k for a whole years graft. Hope you take this post in the spirit its written. Just seems to me that with the kit and experience you have, to make only 20 ish grand a year, it may be you thats getting it wrong. Advanced apologies if I have offended you, that is never my intention. However, I think you know i'm a 'type what i'm thinking' kind of bloke.
  8. Are we actually talking 'impact drivers' here. Seems to me that we are talking about corded and cordless drills. Maybe i'm missing something, but I wouldn't be using an impact driver for the applications discussed.
  9. If you are using an accountant but do all your tax and VAT returns yourself, what exactly does he do?
  10. Yeh, should be fine to put through.
  11. I sent a pm when I read your other post about this. Didn't get a reply though. so I assume it has no other applications.
  12. It really depends if he means, arb planning & landscape planning or arb and landscape planning, if you see what I mean. Assume you did the site yourself mate, as it a DIY one, not a bad job:thumbup1:
  13. The buzz of big trees is the anticipation of the big cheque:thumbup1:
  14. If he was that good, he'd have people paying him to do big trees. He cant even give away his services.
  15. I get it, the tapes just for decoration:thumbup1: Seriously though, if its your ladder, you know its bust, and you are the only one climbing it, there's no problem is there. Videos good though mate, I like the before and after at the end. Watching someone using a silky always makes me cringe, much more than a chainsaw. You just know all the silky wants to do is get your hand:biggrin:
  16. Yeh, good mate, liking the quality. Not so sure about the tape on the ladder rung though:001_tongue:
  17. Got it sorted in the end then mate.
  18. When's it getting the road runner paint job mate?
  19. Ian, I know you were joking mate, I did wonder if I got too involved in the marketing thread if people would think i'm just trying to get work. Its not the case, Nobody knows who I am, and I havent even put my web Address as my signature. At some point I might reveal my contact details I suppose ( if anyone is interested) but for now I just see it as helping out the blokes, who I chat to online:thumbup1: I'm sure someone on here will tell me something I didn't already know, or hadn't thought of, so its a learning experience for me too.
  20. Ian, Not quoting you this time as getting a little bored of it going wrong. Yes mate, I have marketing qualifications, business qualifications, have a full time Management accoutant, full time marketing assistant, and am a marketing consultant and general entrepreneur. Owned a landscaping and tree work business for several years, cos a mate told me it was all about hard work, and I couldn't do it. I told him I could and it was all in the business and marketing principles. Ran it for a few years to prove him wrong, including learning to climb. Hard manual labour isn't really my thing so now i'm concentrating on other things. Or I would be if I wasn't on here chatting to you:lol: There's a better explnation of why I started tree work and landscaping in another thread somewhere. Now thats what I call a derail.
  21. Would expect nothing less of you mate:thumbup: Think this is another de rail, oops Not a derail, we are talking about how you want HMRC to pay for you to stay fit and get enough supplements inside you, so you can keep up with the Mrs. If thats not a justifiable expense, i dont know what is:thumbup: Quote gone funny again
  22. Even at 10 years younger than you, she's still a bit old for me:001_tt2: If you think you are getting any sympathy, cos you are feeling the strain of having a nice younger Mrs, think again:lol:
  23. 10 years younger you say. Good man.
  24. Joomla, ahhhhhhhh Sorry to anyone not familiar with web design, that will make no sense to you.
  25. Thats very interesting Ian. I would have thought it would have been a struggle to reclaim that. Maybe its cos you are really old:001_tt2:
