  1. We know mate. Wouldn't change your name to Stihl though. The Husky boys will never allow you on site.
  2. So anyone who isn't into what you are, isn't a proper bloke, and can be called a girl. But i'm ok now, cos you know i'm into motors. Schoolboy attitude, dont you think. I asked a perfectly reasonable question, to show interest in a thread which had none. I said I didn't get it, asked what I was missing, and said it looked like a scrap yard, look at your first photo and tell me it doesn't (especially the beat up car in top pic and the blokes attacking another with grinders). I will leave it there out of respect for the forum.
  3. No probs then:thumbup1:
  4. It was a genuine question. I've had many cars, bikes and can fly a helicopter, i'm well into most things with an engine. thats why I asked, what i'm missing. I'm not a girl either.
  5. Cool, completely see your point mate. Yeh I know he's not very popular in some of these places. His company takes £billions of oil out of the country and makes £billions in profit. I suppose Its completely different when you are traveling. My brother usually goes out for a week, works out how best to screw the locals then he's back in business class on his way home. Or at least thats how many people see it. Its very interesting to get different peoples opinions of the same places mate:thumbup1:
  6. You wouldn't be winding people up on purpose would you mate:lol:
  7. Good bit of advice. My brother travels a lot in these countries for work. He works for a big oil company. He stays in secure compounds and has a body guard from the time he gets off the plane, to the time he gets back on. These places are lovely, but do not under estimate the dangers.
  8. Big man boobs:001_tt2:
  9. Man boobs:001_tt2:
  10. You're originally from Andover? Does anyone know how I can delete someone from my friends list on here?
  11. I'm actually based down the A36 from Salisbury, near Romsey. Used to own a business in Salisbury though. Used to work in Andover too, few years ago. I have used http://www.signsinmotion.co.uk/ for signwriting. They are good:thumbup1:
  12. You aren't far away from me mate, I know a good signwriting place in Salisbury if that helps.
  13. I'd get an MS260 with a 16 inch bar. If you are a husky man, a 357xp with same bar.
  14. How bigs the timber?
  15. Maybe that is his surname, and yes he is related, and yes he is absolutely loaded.
  16. You mean you've got too many asbo's to take the dog out in public.
  17. Never used one myself but there seem to be quite a few people who like them. Sure people with opinions worth listening too will be along shortly:thumbup1:
  18. I bet she's not. If she was he wouldn't be worrying, he'd be round there offering to take her to another garden centre for free.
  19. I did say SEEMS to know what hes talking about, dont want anyone being disappointed. Shouldn't you sod off out and take that dog of yours out for a walk or something anyway:001_tt2:
  20. I agree, there is a rather good marketing thread at the top of the members only section. Most of it by some bloke called arbclimber, who seems to know what he's talking about. Not sure if you can find stuff in the members only area if you just use the little search box though. prob need to use the main search function.
  21. Hope the council round there isn't as strict with planning laws as ours. We did an almost identical job to that, but in reverse. Customer had it done, council decided to enforce the ' no wall or fence above 1.2m adjacent to a road' rule, and we charged them to reduce it back down. The customer did fight it but got to the point where council said they would send someone round to knock it down and they would be charging for the service. I'm no planning expert, just letting you know what its like round here.
  22. The pruner head will be dear as they need to get money back on the R & D that went into it. Also getting the money back on additional tooling to make it. Anything is cheaper to produce in bulk and i'd imagine they sell a lot more ms170's than those heads.
  23. Nice one:thumbup1:
  24. IMO you cant decide to charge retrospectively. You made a mistake and you have to pay for it. Dont forget to learn from it though. Equally, dont think because you have done it she will be a better customer and you can just add money on to other bills to cover it. That might be the deal as you see it in your head, but she doesn't know that. You will be setting yourself up for disappointment if you think she owes you one. What I would have done is to tell her, when she asked me to accompany her, that whilst i'm there I will have to charge as it would be keeping me from other jobs. I would however try to soften the blow by explaining that I would charge less than my normal rate as it wouldn't be costing me anything in materials or tool use. I would have also explained that as 'trade' if we found what we liked in the garden centre, I would get them for her at a local nursery, using my trade discount to cover the expense of having me advise her. Everyones a winner:thumbup1:
