  1. Thats a really nice bench made with really nice wood, can't beat some nice walnut IMO. Plug cutters are a must cheap as chips on E-bay too. Make some templates out of perspex like material and MkII will take half the time and still be worth £200.
  2. Still haven't made my mind up to be honest:001_huh: Certainly been giving daryl a bit of stick. Telling him im going to hide his lockjack up.
  3. See you all on sunday.
  4. How ever i look at the time. But never price smelling of a brewery!
  5. found it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is the before Gallery - treeworker.co.uk and after Gallery - treeworker.co.uk found the really good reduction i was talking about.
  6. Now this is a whole thing that not even i really understand too well. Pendulum swing effect; The period of swing of a simple gravity pendulum depends on its length, the acceleration of gravity, and to a small extent on the maximum angle that the pendulum swings away from vertical, called the amplitude. It is independent of the mass of the say your own weight hama. If the amplitude is limited to small swings, the period T of a simple pendulum, the time taken for a complete cycle, is: T= 2x Pie (sorry cannot find symbol on here) divided by length of rope divided by the acelleration of gravity. which i think has been given on here already. Then as its a pendulum you must reduce gravitys force (verlocity) by 0.5% for every second after the 1 second has past as you should reach maximum velocity within a second as your downward force isn't increasing as such. Beacuse you kind of skimming along the downward force not trying to overcome it, like if you were falling? hope this has helped but not my forte as such just got some help on this a while back when i was trying to work out if a rigging kit i used could pendulum swing at nearly the max SWL on a free running pendulum lowering type thing.
  7. Oh 1kN is equal to 101.971621298 kilograms of force.
  8. Oh talking about swing forces from the falling branch. Surley the branch is travelling at X and all the swing is creating a sideways force not a downward force mainly so should you only really need to identify the KN of downward force??? Just a thought.
  9. I thought it was weird that this quote hadn't popped up earlier. Oh good old hitchhickers guide:thumbup:
  10. Very hard one rivers as water will always find a way to get through... Willow stems seem to be the way forward but obviously cost money in management. Concrete will always evidently fall fowl to scouring effect. Seems like we can only do one of 2 things watch it or try to slow it down.
  11. This might sound a bit retarded....Whats the difference?
  12. Nice pics there, got any of the finished product?
  13. You mean the 'dowson, summerly' effect?
  14. Ok heres some naff drawings i've done i hope they give a bit of help.
  15. Why not drop them an e-mail directly?
  16. Stretch Airs type-c So far they have wiped the floor with any others i've had for durability.
  17. Anybody know the best place to buy airspades from?
  18. Larches- Look at the cones decidua - Cones are tight and upright kaempferi - Cones are open and droops X eurolepis - Cones are a mixture of upright and drooping Metaesquoia remember as MOG = Meta opposite Glypto, needles sit oppersite. Taxodium remeber as TAD = Tax adjacent Distich, Needles sit adjacent Piceas - cones go down Abies - Cones go up Douglus fir - 3 pointed buds Scotts pine needles twist to kind of make a S Nigra - long needles Bhutan - droops and is soft to touch Juniper - Crush and smells like gin Tsuga canadensis - leaves curl over, has a reflex leaf (on top some leaves turn over to show a silver underside)
  19. Thats a wacking bit in the first few pics.
  20. Yeah shes a lux. If you put greedy sides on their quite good but you ain't got no tipper so that can suck sometimes. Thinking of changing it for a transit.. But my yard gets really wet in winter so may get another lux and trailer (tipper) combo. They hide weight really well unlike some transit types. Also i've nearly killed her, broken rad, 3 diff seals gone, rear prop drive leaking, and she survived some tool crashing into me in the ice. So i think maybe shes not going to pass a mot...
  21. It was 4 and a half loads of chip, 2 loads of wood and 1 load of rakings + one beloved broom broken:thumbdown:.
  22. Twice the price on ivy and get a subby in to climb it too. Save you the swearing whilst trying to get to the top.
  23. Nice:thumbup1: Thinking outside the box there, natural stumps used very well.
  24. Its the only time 'treat em mean keep em keen' has worked for me.
  25. Reduction should be good get the lever arm as far down as you dare. Also maybe install a cobra bracing system if moneys no too tight on the job. Maybe its compressed organic matter in the fork?
