  4. Yep running bowline around the stem below your work strop and you can even put the fig8 in for your decent later. Smaller bits is a good point. Just remember don't panic! Is that a skylotec harness i spot too?
  5. So you say its going to take a day for 2? well start their and think how much profit you'd like to make from it? How much hassle too? £400 for 2 guys and a chipper for the day + 10% profit £40 + £100 hasssle. £540? Just an example tho.
  6. As were all aware summer is on the way. Clearish skies, warmish days, Sunburnt skin! Well some may know that sunburn should be in a risk assessment. some may not know. As an employer you should take action to resolve this as best you can. I.e. T-shirts to be worn at all times etc. Vest tops will not cover this! So suncream is probaly your best bet. Most shops have a buy 1 get 1 free at the start of summer. Unfortunatly this is mainly for the nivea type ones that require re-application every 15-30 minutes as it rubs off:thumbdown:. I have been using Riemans p20 now for a few years 1 application per day apply and leave to dry for 15mins then you can put your top back on or off all day long. I thought i'd raise this point as a good friend of mine who never used suncream, sometimes got a little bit of sunburn has now had 6 moles removed off his shoulder and back because they changed to potentialy cancerous.

  10. Slowly but surely is the way forward and standing on them at 6ft lean back put your hands on your head, then the same at 12ft and so on. Don't try to rush learning, Thats when accidents happen.
  11. Yeah i've had to sit the same test for my CPCS card for the hiabs.
  12. Just thought their was a real missed oppertunity for the AA to promote itself today on 'rouge traders'. Did they contact you at all? Also are you going to take this guy to court for false advertising?

  16. I had to remove storm damaged branches from 'Cromwells oak at Hayden in Norfolk' so he was 10 when the bull chased him up it, so if you can work that out then its that old.

  19. Howards hitch:thumbup:
  20. This morning's little job.
  21. Used it with xtc fire today and every hitch i tried worked well and didn't slip. Must work better on the larger diameter ropes. I guess my spare line is now my work line and vice a versa. Really enjoying the howards hitch at the moment too.
  22. Another couple of pics. (carving out the ripples took the best part of an hour).
  23. Made 2 simple benches one with bark other without. Then got ambitious and carved with a chainsaw ripples on a chair:001_smile: When fitting the seat it decided to split:thumbdown:. Sunk screws in the back and side to hold it together, plenty good enough for my garden:thumbup:
