  1. can do if you fancy running along it before a crane puts a pole up. Although it stands at around the 90-100ft mark then:001_tongue:
  2. Hi guys and girls, Were keen for you to have your say on how we can make the pole climbing so you yourself would like to try/compete. This is really important to us as without this kind of feedback we could end up unintentionally running an event that isn't competitor friendly and that's what we wish, no strive to avoid. So please take time to think why you haven't or wouldn't want to have a go. Anything that comes into your mind about it no matter how small the change could be we are keen to know. Many thanks for having time to read this. Pole climbing
  3. SWEET! Very smoothly carried out and the speedline across the gardens tbh most of us wouldn't of thought of that just rigged it down and carried it out the gate:lol: Nice work and always good videos:thumbup1:
  4. Those jumps are ace especially the one off the train. Mind you in todays world he'd probably of impailed himself on dumped shopping trolley's.
  5. Congrats Mr B did your forget to take your night time hair net off tho?
  6. Bold = more items added to the list of requests If you can think of anything else you would like me to request to be added to the suggested list then add now as its off to husqvarna to look over later tonight.

  8. Work/climbing kit Bag added

  10. So so far then T540xp (They might already be on the cards as a top prize) Chainsaw trousers Axe's Fuel cans Bags Hard hat spares for hard hat felling lever forestry tape tongs hook thingy foresters belt braces T-shirts and hats are normally in goodie bags. Anything else guys?
  11. Hi Guys and Girls, Hope you all had a lovely christmas and new year. 2011 is nearly ready to go! So im just giving your memory a little nudge to remind you to send your entry forms in if you haven't already. Don't forget to invite others who might not of had a go but might be interested in giving it a go. The more people the better! So metion it to the lads you work with see if they fancy a crack. It's a good year to have a try as you all know the hard work Terry & Lisa put in behind the scenes and securing Husky sponsorship for their events is testoment to that. So lets have a little push to get a few more faces at the events. To be honest its a good year for prizes and to try it.
  12. As the title says! Oh and its FREE to enter!!! I'll give you a little background on how. As many of you will know that husky sponsered the world pole climbing at the APF last year giving away £3000 in prize money and goodies. So as a result of this and a lot of hard work from Terry Benett and Lisa Richards husky are sponsring 2 main events this year! woodfest and the three counties (three counties also are holding the europeans on the last day). There are a few category's Tree surgeon class- side spikes only Expert - sides or toe spikes Female - fastest time over the event vets(over 40's) - fastest time Now some of you might think oh its competitive. Honestly it isn't really at all you'll find everyone really approchable. ( I was concerend before i entered my 1st comp thinking that there would be guys physcing themselves up etc. In realilty is was lots of people chilling and having a good laugh.) You don't need to worry about a strop either as we have the special racing ones made up for you and anyone will lend you theres if you ask. They take around 10-15 seconds off a normal run. If you ask and have the right size feet im sure people will let you have a go in thier racing spikes (i will if you ask). Camping is normally free or on site and close to the beer tent (drinking is one of the highlights, although we are yet to get our own 200t guitar man). Oh you get a free goodie bag for entering the comp which has got to be worth it itself right! which will lead me to my last question I started a year ago in the tree surgery catergory and had a go, initally i was worried about looking rubbish but i did it in around 25 seconds which wasn't the fastest but still to 80ft that wasn't bad i thought, by the end of the season i moved up to expert and finished 13th in the world out of a final qualifying field of 14:lol:. So if you fancy a go even if you just have one run up the pole im sure you'll walk away chuffed to bits with your time. So i've been asked to compile a list of prizes (husky stuff only) which will be spread across the goodie bags and 1-6th places in each category so have your chance to say what you'd like to see avaliable to win just remember i've got to give a list of stuff so feel free to list them below and i'll add them to the list and they will be sent to husky. Entry is free remember so don't miss your chance to win something or at least get a free goodie bag Pole Climbing Competitions - Woodfest Wales, St Asaph Three Counties Show ? Competition Entries So why not come have a go you might even become hooked on it.
  13. Great! there is a few threads on this tho.
  14. Your too kind:blushing:
  15. Tony.....why is there a picture of you standing in your front door???
  16. Cheers guys, agree mark but it one of the requirments prior to any construction as the building is to be built a 9m away from it and the RPA is 8.8m! wouldn't find me living in a house so close to a tree but these developers will do all they can to make a bigger profit.
  17. Had Frosty with me today on a somewhat blustery day. Had to give this a light reduction as instructed by the tree officer (who turned up out of the blue to check the work). The site is quite sensitive within the area as there had been lots of objections and even a claim of a great crested newt being spotted:001_rolleyes: Anyway heres the film all in time lapse. 18. Rupe, just thought id share this little info with you about time lapse video's on videopad that i use with my hd camera i have found that in settings i can change the defult photo frame length to whatever i want unlike windows live movie maker. The standard thing i a free download and just took me less than 10 minutes to do 735 photos into a film.

hope this makes you have a go at time lapse as your bigger jobs are better than mine.

  19. Matty i keep a crab and a pulley (currently my hitchclimber pulley) for closed canopy trees and clip it onto the bridge below my spiderjack or lockjack and it seems to work very well. Although i think i'll never be a good as joe.
  20. True, with me id rather hire in climbers on a job than do it myself (kind of started to re-enjoy working the lowering ropes), i climb most days alternating trees with the guys i've hired in. TBH i think the guys i hire rarely get contracted in for those horrible trees just normal everyday trees.
  21. No, i only ask for climbing kit and saw. Covered by my insurance, fuel, blower, etc.
  22. Tk maxx keeps me clothed:lol: Kappa chainsaw trousers and tops are buy one get two free.
