1. That's a log of split logs How come you don't bag them and whack them straight under cover?
2. I am surprised Boxer uk sold any machines my experience with their customer service was really bad! Ive exchanged a few emails with a Vermeer rep with regards to their S725Tx & S800TX both look decent machines on paper log grab seems a bit pricey.
3.
Your messages are full...don't hold out for that job Don. ..not heard owt back yet.

4. The idea of the flat rate was to put me on a level playing field with other non vat registered arb firms. I have found that i don't seem to win as much work as before vat registered but its not made that much of a difference as i was previously worried about. I think that some folk just want work doing for nowt it does'nt matter if there's vat on top or not.
5. Each to their own i suppose, seems a bit gimmicky having super super dry logs...dont they burn overly fast with them being so dry?
6. Vat update...being great so far as I have bought lots and lots of new gear and have claimed just over 10 grand back, on the downside now I have stopped buying and am starting to save I am just playing tax collector for hmrc. I do tend to feel like wasting my time with some jobs as the extra 20% is outpricing us. I am now looking into the flat rate scheme which I believe is a fixed 12%.
7. Is this right or wrong. Wet log goes in kiln...comes out dry say 10%...log goes in customers log store in normal atmospheric conditions and rises to say 20%??? Why pay more for kiln dried???
8. We've split loads up this year more than ever before, new website etc but are struggling to shift them at all! Hope it picks up or we will be flooded with them next year.
9. I like
10. Got to take some paladin or v fencing down in a few weeks to gain access on site, i cannot for the life of me find "or know what they are called" 1 of the tools for taking the clips off they are like a hex key with a hole in the center...any ideas?????
11. I am trying to avoid the manual handling side of things, by the time it goes from site to leaving the yard split it will of being handled 5 times.
12. I dont see the point in the screw type ones, they look messy
13. We seem to be producing more and more firewood every year as a by product of tree surgery, i am trying to streamline the firewood side to increase efficiency & reduce man handling. This year we will have produced around 200 cube of hardwood all processed by hand, the oversize stuff is usually ringed up & broke down via vertical splitter smaller stuff on saw bench then straight into ibc's. Ideally i would like 1 machine to split over size stuff & cut & split lengths, maybe load with a mini digger & grab Does such a machine exist? i am open to any other way of doing things.
14. Self employed groundsman wanted for regular work around the Wakefield Leeds area, will be joining a 2 man crew assisting with ground work, experience preferred but not essential. Simon 07977114605
15. Why did you change them Gary?
16. In the words of forst "it appears to be a manufacturing error" they have fixed it pretty quick sharp, arranged collection and delivery & offered a stand in machine. Really good service I must say, just cant help thinking someone on the production line did that on purpose because they knew it was not right! If I had someone like that working for me I would sack them!!!
17. Your a mile off mick, and in all honesty I wouldn't have done a **** job in the first place, next time we do some decking I will just bang fixings in anywhere, if customer notices I suppose I will have to fix it.
18. To their credit they are collecting the machine to look into the issue, i have asked to loan a machine to which they are sending 1 up I am not moaning i am on here asking if anybody else has had the same issue, there is a difference, i am the first 1 to say how good the machine and redwoods backup have been before i noticed the bearing! if id of known i couldn't ask a question on a public forum i wouldn't have posted
19. So out of 2 washers that hold the hopper on 1 is a small round washer that fits perfectly and the other is clearly too big and has being cut, why not put the same as the other side on? You cant seat the hopper correctly when lifting I on and off which is ****! I've lived with that for over a year, the point I am making is why cut corners? The machine is a newer tr6.
20. Sounds like me with the handbrake binding on a van with 100 miles on it.
21. I dont agree with all of that bob, in my mind there's no way this bearing is meant to be like it is. If its not right dont send it out! If you pruned a tree and didn't use finishing cuts would you just leave it anyway? Reputation is built on quality not "it will do". I know stuff needs ironing out in manufacturing, I purposely waited until they had being out over a year to avoid the lemons, if its **** why not fix it then send it out.
22. Already emailed them.
23. I am asking if anybody else has the issue with the bearing, and yes it's still in warranty. I've seen hundreds of pillow bearings on farm machinery and have never seen one with a jagged edge chipped off before. Does your st8 have lump knocked out of the pillow bearing? It's not a case of its working fine it's a case of what's acceptable on a 30 grand plus machine.
24. We have smashed a load into her as cubes and are drying really well
