  1. Agreed, Friday afternoon machines shouldn't exist.
  2. Hydraulic hoses I would assume they don't manufacture on site and are just 1 of those unlucky things. But the things I have pointed out are ridiculous.
  3. There is human error which I accept, but there is also quality control to combat human error! Think it was 34 grand, that's a lot of money so why send it out like it is? The side cover and washer is no big deal even though the washer makes it a pita to get the hopper on and off! But the bearing in am not impressed with. If the original one goes kaput how the he'll do you fit a replacement? Break another bit off
  4. We have a tr6 bought brand new last year it has barely done any work approx 200 hours, I have noticed a few shitty corners that seem to have being cut, just wanted to know if anyone else had noticed anything.? 1 of theWashers that holds the hopper on has being cut down to fit, as though they had run out of the correct ones! The bolts that hold the side cover on don't and never have lined up properly, when I first took it off 1 of them was forced in on the piss! And I have just noticed today the bearing that holds the top roller on and the bearing that goes on the flywheel shaft are touching, I thought something had broken so we used the bar forst provided to open the rollers to have a look, it looks like someone had dropped a bollock and has chipped a lump out of the flywheel bearing to allow the top roller to come down without touching the flywheel bearing! Where the bearing is chipped has being painted forst orange so I know nothing has moved and or changed since its left the factory! It was over 30 grand this machine, we don't abuse it and always keep up with maintenance, to say it was so expensive you'd expect everything to be perfect! Unless someone can tell me it has being manufactured this way I doubt I will buy another!
  5. It is but at the moment we don't need a wagon, this suits us well as things stand, maybe if the arb side expands it would be worth while. My old transit that cost me £5.500 did almost 300 grands worth of work before I retired it. They aren't perfect for tree work but they do the job.
  6. Lot of people picking this video to bits, was anybody actually there or know the whole story? Its easy to pick fault sat behind a computer watching a video filmed on a mobile phone. Gotta love the internet.
  7. That's perfect...first attempt?
  8. Got 2 on the books full time now as it makes us much more effective on site, i hate finding staff! for every 1 good bloke their seems to be 50 plonkers, bite the bullet and set someone decent on full time, get a trainee and mould them into what you want.
  9. Its the box and body that bumped it up, if it lasts as long as my other van then its peanuts
  10. This is a lwb 150 version, Brittip cut the chassis down, made the tool box and built the body from scratch, it cost just over 33 grand with the vat. the tool box, ally tipper tow bar was around 10 grand! don't think id pay that much for an arb conversion again though, its s good body just a few things let it down which for the money it should be perfect
  11. Barn doors at the top and the bottom drops down like a transit, was just going to have barn doors but there's a good chance of logs smashing lights etc on the back of the van.
  12. It came from HRVS in Sheffield, i went to Steadplan in leeds but at the time their salesman had left and the woman i was dealing with knew nothing about the vehicles and kept having to come back to me via email! they had no vehicles in to test drive either! i think if you get the 120 bhp version its around 20 grand which int bad for a new van.
  13. Brittip They are over rated.
  14. I think the problem is a lack of people wanting to work full stop, advertising as part time seems to drag in the dregs, getting subbies isn't cost effective, get someone on the books a months worth of work and their wages ppe etc is paid up for the year, it goes to reduce your year end and means that you have always got someone when you need them. When work slackens off send them log splitting while you rustle up more work. In your eyes nobody will be as good as you, or work as efficiently but as long as you get somebody with half a brain who is willing to work you've cracked it.
  15. Just enough for my snap box and flask then lol
  16. Isuzu make a 5.5tonner, apparently the dealer says its the same vehicle that has been down plated for the uk. Engine is the same they put in 7.5 ton Izusu, my old transit has been a 100% reliable work horse only ever let me down once, I just think the now ones look flimsy in comparison.
  17. Not sure yet i have not run it over the weigh bridge, it will have a **** payload same as any other 3.5 tonner
  18. i think you get a much better finish with cylinder.
  19. Just been looking on Hayters website, think your right they dont seem to make any ride ones anymore, the toro mowers i have used were shite!
  20. Must admit i have just bolted chains to the inside of the tool box to run through saw handles as a bit of extra security, it been hard earned bob, just hope its as robust as it looks.
  21. I built the old box on the transit myself so thought id get 1 built properly this time, its a lwb chassis which has been cut down to around 10 foot long, yet to take it out working! going out on site Monday.
  22. Looking for a ride on mower capable of cutting large areas of grass such as sports fields. Gang mower behind tractor is not really practical as i would ideally like to move small john deere ride on an push mowers staff etc to site in 1 go, i know Hayter used to make a cylinder mower with 4 gang on it if i remember rightly
  23. This is our new van to replace my poor old transit, 150 bhp custom built box, just needs sign writing
  24. Get 1 of these 150 bhp, pulls like a train, crap payload same as any other 3.5 tonner, bouncy when the back is empty, its exactly like a small wagon to drive. built like a tank, the cab is a bit lacklustre and basic but we don't spend all day in it
  25. :blushing:Over loading is over loading be it a trailer van wagon etc, i would have thought if your a few kilos over they would slap your arse, but stupidly over your gonna pay! as i once found out in a 7.5 tonner
