  1. agree with mac, last yr I left 2ft air gap between rows and it made a huge difference!mine are on pallets one on floor,one between bags and one on top,then old fencing pannels/corrugated sheets/ on top. which I remove in july to let the sun fry the top logs.

  6. hi johnathan, when I first got into making furniture I used to buy second grade beech from high wycombe area,as there was some big mills locally, and I got a good price, but as most of my work was outside stuff, I needed oak,so used to buy from local estate, when they retired the sawmill, I purchased it(woodmizer lt40),and as agg21 says,when tree work is quiet then i mill, stack the timber and let it air dry, I`allways think ahead by a couple of yrs and am lucky to have enough stuff to keep me going, Things like elm(that I love) dont grow here anymore so I sourse from you , buy green sometimes and sometimes kiln dried, , I mill because I love the process from felling to making the end product, and I hoard wood! hence my latest order from you lol,

  10. I planked some a few yrs ago and still have a bit, was very dissapointed, was very white and bland,very much like deal, didnt turn well on the end grain and hard to get a good finnish.

  16. yes just down the road from me!!! l, apparently they got arrested too for driving down a closed road, endangering life, and wasting police time! the ford is notorious for this, its 2ft deeper than the lowest mark on the scale,,and has a flashing light warning!
  17. I should say the inner bark,,I drawknife the outer bark off, which I use on my flower beds,,
