  2. top day mate, great to hook up with fellow arb talkers and put some lovely timber into good hands that will give it the prolonged life it deserves,, nice to meet slackbladder too!

  5. mate use what you`ve got...spruce isnt perfect but it will do,,put a sheet of ply over it or a hard finnish on it,,,and if it dont work ,,make another:thumbup1:
  6. I cant think of a more honest /trust worthy bloke who goes out of his way to help others than john hughes, let me tell you this guy who ever he is, and I hope he`s reading this, is a disgrace! as I know john and he doesnt lie, john, ignore this low life, he`s not worth it. shame on him.

  10. cheers guys, the bottom 4ft was 6ft round, decided to put this too one side for maybe a kids castle project,,watch this space,,,
  11. final few planks , loads of offcuts to remill, and all the top of the log to make into a chainsaw carved shell, and mushroom tops etc,,, no waste here, by far the biggest tree ive milled, thanks arbtalk ,for putting this tree to a good use,,,,
  12. some more, we used the alaskan to break it down, keeping a few rings for big table projects in the future, then maxed the woodmizer out, in fact had to take it off and make it smaller then try again,,,
  13. heres a few pics al of the beast you gave me, quite a challenge,,,, it was 22ft long 5-6ft round tapering to 4ft,,weighing approx 7ton,,,(i dont have the pics of it arriving on hi-ab)
