  1. I know you have said its different to the 260 but I still think that it will be the same boring rubbish saw after a while. And without trying to do the stihl vs huskey debate..... The 346 can run an 18 inch bar and still not lose power or even for an extra £100 buy a 357 with even more power I just fail to see what is atractive about a saw that can only run a 13" and when a 15" comes on its nothing.
  2. Dont think so pal I done mine ealier in the year and they ask you 3 saftey things to remeber about the winch If a winch is needed the assecor gets it out but they dont assces you for what you do or help them to do. 32 (medium trees) covers alot of winching.
  3. Yep I reckon this years going to be worse than last year. everyone was lossing there minds last year and the press said stuff about being out of recceson official. But its just creeped back. Sure it can be a cacth 22 It means more Foresters/arbs going out leaving work for the well established or it means the college funding will be cut for arbs. I dont think its going to be all bad My theoroy on the firewood industry is that as were geting mroe eco it will cacth on, as the reccesion grows tighter it will cacth on. For well established firewood sellers i think it could be cashing in time. Good luck all

  9. So did the earlier post with the facts on come from 2009 and not include 2010? I was suprrised that the fattalities were so low I thought it would be at least a hundred or so. But once again as someone said how many get reported. I also think that the construction industry is more tightly regulated there jobs go over months and month ( in some case) so have big bosses who do big site meetings you do it by the book or your out but who does arb have to regulate it? Ocassionally in big jobs a boss or health and safftey manager might turn up but I doubt it not in arb. Still Its a very good thread thanks for posting something to definatley think oabout tommorow.
