    Idea

Hi Tom10 I sometimes work a stem like this if I'm knocking off big chogs and descending down a fair distance. Instead of clipping your top biner onto a small prussic tie a running bowline around the stem leaving your biner in the eye splice and clipping the tail of your rope into it. You can descend down as normal on the friction hitch and pull down on the tail to retrieve back to yourself. makes sense to me but here's a pic aswell.
  3. Treated myself to a new rope guide. Still playing about with the retrieval side
  4. If you like thicker rope but don't want xtc you could have a look at samson Vortex it's 12.7mm
  5. I got my black pinto from Treegear over here. I do know they got a load of DMM stuff through in the new colours. TREEGEAR Australia | Tree Climbing Equipment | Arborist Supplies | Safety Gear
  6. Cheers Adam. That one was for a friend, I want to re do mine now lol Dito to what Ben said. Don't think the blocks have any new colours yet. The new HC's and Pintos do look cool.
  7. I was toying with that idea Drew. I suppose the load on each leg of the pinto would equalise better. Here's a standard one I did the other day
  8. Yea very true mate. How long do you make your bury on the brummel? I think it's just psychological with me, I like my pinto's on a double braid. Atb Dan
  9. Hi Adam Just looked at your Yalex onto a pinto. One looks like a locking brummel the other looks like a brummel. I understand you can only do a locking on one but i'd not climb on a normal brummel in that application. Not sure about other people. I'm happy to be told it's safe to do so but just wanted to give you a bit of a heads up. Atb Dan

I'll have to drop in there tomorrow. I know I'll come out with more than just heat shrink though Yea do bro, seems thinner than 11.7, feels quite similar to teufelberger tachyon. I did hear that cougar blue was developed by Scott Forest and Grant Cody. It gets my approval....not that that means much lol.

Nice one Drew Was thinking of picking up some Stable Braid or Dynasorb to splice up for rigging. What was it like to splice? Nice looking climbing lines too. Just started climbing on cougar blue. Really nice rope and nice to splice
  13. Here's a couple from today. Nothing exciting. Just an AP e2e and some used Poison Hi-Vy. Final bury was a bit of a pig!
  14. Will do bro. Vanuatu looked quite similar to Fiji. There's some rubbish there too. Lol It'll have to be next year now. I'm heading off next week, 4x4ing and camping my way from Adelaide to Darwin. Cant wait
  15. Nice work mate that whipping looks solid. On another note, I think I'm going to have to take a trip over to Vanuatu after seeing you lot over there.
  16. Cool dog toy. How big's your dog? Is the toy doberman proof? Hey Drew. Saw you on '60 seconds' climbing the volcano in Vanuatu. Looked EPIC What ropes did you use? They must have been heat resistant.
  17. Lol I think this may be one of those sad things splicers do.....or maybe just me
  18. I'm sure i'm not the only one with leftover bits of rope. So what uses have people found for some of them? I've just made myself an eye 2 eye sling for my water bottle out off an ap cover
  19. How about a pulleysaver of some sort? They choke off on a stem and retrieve nicely. Redirect Notice
  20. yea i've got the 'pleasure' of working with ewan work together during the week, go climbing at the weekends. No wonder the girlfriend gets the hump lol
  21. Yea mate. Got quite a few vids. Problem is I only brought my netbook with me to Oz and am having trouble editing the hd videos. Well actually I'm having trouble even playing them on the netbook. It's just now powerful enough Also most of the vids are of me completely wiping out doing stupid things up Eucs lol
  22. 2 cameras. 1 additional battery pack. 1 LCD screen Got the GoPro Hero. Love it! Definitely go for the hero or hero 2. It means you can user the add ons. There's a remote coming soon too GoPro Wi-Fi BacPac & Remote

    SRT Rescue

I think I deserve more recognition than Ewan. He got it COMPLETELY wrong lol Although neither of us came up with any ideas

    SRT Rescue

I think Drew was referring to rescuing someone who needs lifting, when the rescuer is on a SRT system. I may be wrong though.
