  1. i was expecting something like this.. when walking through a bog you should carry a 20ft 3''x2'' vertically so when you sink they can nail your name to the top of the post
  2. but surely the eu want us all to drive economically? and tuning an engine to get the best out of it etc etc speedbumps/most economical speeds not maintained due to queues of cars next to an empty bus la.....i'm off to live in a hand dug snowcave in an avalanche area outside the eu if thats allowed
  3. i'd always go for a landrover even if budget wasn't an issue, the low ratio gears on the transfer box are awesome for slow controlled manouvering without sitting on the clutch, only drawback i can think of is they don't work when dirty:thumbup: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOe-_Imh6yE]YouTube - muddy fail 2[/ame] using the low range gears they will tow far more than 3.5t, try typing 'landy towing wagon in snow' in youtube:thumbup1:
  4. the wheelclamp on my ifor is tested (by me) to 5mph:blushing:
  5. sounds like a dvla wheelclamp to me..or the brakes/wheelbearings/steering/animal in the wing etc
  6. my bro is a big fan of aftermarket remapping, he has had his two late model transits done, an iveco, the wifes freelander and his M5 before he sold it, and it made a difference for the better on each vehicle:thumbup1: all my vehicles are too old for this witchcraft:thumbup:
  7. i had to search google earth for the restaurant but we visited the north beach and used the library for internet connection, some ace books on the old logging there, i was really taken with the coast redwoods in the area and even planted some here lastyear for a client to eventually block out a new 4 storey apartment block near his boundary, he wanted something that gets really big so i took him a pair of 10ft sequoia sempervirens which he liked, he loves telling everyone they are the tallest trees on the planet:thumbup1:
  8. there's always loads of driftwood on the beach at crescent city, did all that get dumped further in then? i believe they stuff it in containers and ship it around the world from there too. i did some exploring round that area a few years ago and loved it, all the huge trees and the many huge old stumps. cool place:thumbup1:
  9. there's a lot of potholes about at the moment:thumbdown:, it's amazing how high trailers bounce on bumps, i'd love to put some big soft 4x4tyres on the chipper to soak up some of them. and a bucket of soapy water does nothing compared to a karcher steam cleaner:thumbup:
  10. yeah nick at 0:37 and 0:52, he borrowed some muppets climbing kit for the pine one, who would lend their kit eh ross?
  11. slap your mate round the head and tell him bonfires are bad for trees, then charge him for felling them:001_smile:
  12. four men fighting with a twig, once its on the ground it takes up half the road, ah well put some more tape round it:thumbdown: we got called to a pussy rescue where the pussy firemen had took four hours to establish it wasn't safe to climb a ladder and rescue a cat. five mins later the cat was down and safe:thumbup: and the firemen went back to their nice warm bunks to get some shuteye for the cashjob treework they do on their days off, because we all know their wage that they striked for isn't enough
  13. either that chipper is small or you are a giant:thumbup:
  14. i like to park ass and have the bar vertical, back handle on the floor to sharpen, no vice needed, but dry seat essential, if in doubt sit on gloves
  15. oh there was also a 50yr old manicured privet that we dragged out with the landy:thumbup:
  16. another from 2wks ago, the last one had lasted 50yrs so we concreted the posts 750mm into the ground, bolted all the joints, screwed all the palings/lats and used galvy fixings, fingers crossed it'll be there for a while:thumbup1:
  17. can't think of anything right now.. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWWk9N5JLzo&NR=1]YouTube - Best Car Ad Ever[/ame]
  18. i hate it when the bike breaks just there.! thats some gravel rash
  19. i only ever climb on my weaver too:thumbup1:
  20. not bad for a lump of what looks like leylandii
  21. we had one like that this week but it stayed put, had a large stepladder so managed to untangle it but surprised it didn't snap as it took two of us to lift it over the wall
  22. some say he can install bt lines in his sleep and that he follows waz77 round for work, all we know is he's called the ginner:thumbup:
