  1. Me Again! Thanks for your wise comments, I am not looking to import machines or anything I am trolling around for a new machine and after dropping onto Stihl USA site i was taken aback by the price variance between us and them. I don't suppose the dealers are making huge margins in the UK I suppose its the US economies of scale thing or just things are cheaper there syndrome Regarding the manuals do they have a different build in the states is it not the case that an 2010 model for europe is the same as a US model.? now that would be daft to not use the same parts..
  2. Are the USA saws any lesser quality as i think they are make in Brazil i think. I beleive they are behind on the models by the look of things An example of the prices are a 290 Farm boss cost 389 USD with local tax which is about £250!! Ok its not worth it to import on its own but i can now understand why i have seen saws being brought back as luggage from sthe states..
  3. Without wanting to be chucked out on my 1st post Have any of you pros purchased or considered buying Stihl or hushy from the states. The model numbers are a little different but they are much cheaper if brought back with other stuf. i dont want to p**s of the dealers but in this credit crunch times it is a thought I know the obviouse thought of warrenty and the like but thoughts please ..
