  1. It's a well known business rule not to turn up to price in a top of the range motor as human nature tells the client you're making a lot of money somewhere, and it goes against the grain. As for clothing, usually smart casual, but if passing I apologise for being covered in sawdust, but no one expects a tree worker to show up to price in a 3 piece suit.
  2. Mine is updated with bit and pieces of work every couple of weeks, and I get plenty of likes and offers of work come in on the back of it. Many from middle aged as well as younger gen. I'm in the process of getting a web page out there (better late than never)
  3. Good luck with your 32 next week Adam
  4. Yes Felix it is, although I also use 'kill it' bait which is also deadly, or if I have my Browning 725 when it's safe around the straw stacks,I blow them to hell with that.
  5. I have a gentlemans agreement with a farmer and my part of it is to control rats around the grain stores. I have seldom known such a bad year for rats, as fast as I clear 1 lot up, another large gang move in, so I have had to maintain a constant battle to kept them in check. And they're getting bigger, I shovelled one up the other day about the size of a small jack Russell.
  6. There is talk in the future of bringing back British Rail to be our national train company again, but without all their shortcomings. Kevin will then be proved right with our eastern european friends doing in a day what now takes a fortnight. The days of the cushy number will be but a distant memory.
  7. Friend of mine was being driven crazy by beeps and chimes all the time, he spends lot of time off roads so doesn't belt up. His main dealer wouldn't listen so he took it to a local family garage hereabouts and they filled all the noise modules etc with mastic. Not a peep from anything in there now
  8. I like to give them a knock first, even apparently gruff neighbours have said 'while you're here then how much to do so and so' and before you know it there's a bit more folding money to stuff in your jacket pocket .
  9. I'm so sorry to hear about this Adam, if I can be of help you know where I am .
  10. If it's of interest, I've had this blessed problem with can bus electrics on my transit. When my new chipper with its leds was plugged in the tranny went bonkers, hazards coming on, fog lights you name it , if vosa had pulled me over my feet wouldn't have touched the ground. Solved it eventuallybut took long time with various so called electrical experts looking at it and rubbing their chin whiskers.
  11. Hope your new grinder gets you plenty of work coming in Adam.
  12. That's a laugh openspaceman, I paid in to a prudential private pension starting in 1972, couple of years ago they start to pay me back my 'hard earned pension' one of their advisors came and sat in my house and said they were generously paying me £64 a month on direct debit. Not index linked. I would have been so much better stashing it in a b.s. over the years. If I ever meet the git that sold it me back then, he will feel the back of my hand.
  13. My cut n climb jacket must be 3 or 4 years old and is still waterproof. I sponge in down with warm soapy water on occasion. I also have a hooded, thigh length Royal Navy heavy weather coat I wear if we have to be out in pelting rain all day,it has no pockets and is as waterproof as a mermaids chuff. My son in laws in the navy so it didn't cost me much
  14. Things are already getting heated up on here this week, and its only Monday lunchtime.
  15. That would be red fir .
  16. Finally got there , with a little help after my daughter called round, I wasn't installing the app properly. Here we are download speed 0.74 mbps , upload 0.36 mbps. That according to my daughter is 'crap' .
  17. If it's any consolation, I never understood what was going on there either:)
  18. I can recommend HDD covers, got them in my tipper.
  19. Even after toolbox talks and line/chipper distances checked, accidents come from nowhere we know that. Last year we were working over a shared driveway, all householders told of works of course, and out came a car up the drive, straight through the cones and barrier tape onto the road, and tangled round her mirror was my climbers line. By chance she looked in her rear view mirror and saw the guys running and waving behind her and she stopped immediately. At best it would have ripped her mirror off, at worst well not like to think about it.
  20. The only time I ever got rid of a full tank just cutting a gob out of a biggy, was when my tank sprung a leak and spilled petrol all over my boots
  21. Ha ha very funny Spud. I did try that button but nothing happens, not even buffering, hence my question
  22. Somebody just point me right, I've got on uswitch and I think Ive downloaded app, can't get any further, keep it simple please , how do you get it to give you your speeds. We can only use Facebook or google one at a time in the house .
  23. On mine (iPhone 6s ) that site puts up u switch , did you put your postcode and provider in. What's a screen shot mate?
