it might be the letting agent that is the problem just wanting the cheapest way of dealing with it and blaming everyone else for the short fall and lack of knowledge eco plugs will sort your side out but not the next doors new tree that has come up from suckers for the last 2 years

our bus service is not reliable its a hourly service but quite often dos not turn up school busses if you live under 2 miles from the school you have to pay for the pass or walk so the parents take them in there cars and it causes grid lock at the school i know a farmer who is about a mile and a half up a rough track not belonging to him the local authority were obliged to take there kids to school from the farm so they arranged a taxi it only lasted a week because the taxi firm refused to go up the lane because it took so long and damage to the cars so the authority payed them to take the kids to school and bring them home again

don't think the ivy idea will work very well it will eventually get under the shroud and need cutting at least twice in a year i was thinking winter Jasmin but it might get too bushy -
you could always weigh it petrol is 0.737 kg per liter but you want to know what the container weighs first

bit like doobin says but you could cut it down by hand clear it away then use a digger to scrape the root mat out that is unless you like digging then use a mattock, fork and spade as the roots are not that deep
