  1. ill ask the buyer (my dad) as he keeps spending all this money on his truck and stuff and then says hes got no money there is an aluminium box fitted now, similar design to the ifor canopies, but rather tall! will get some pictures in the daylight tomorrow.
  2. something tells me that he shouldnt have done that
  3. They are bfg mud terrains. 12" wide. I think the canopy has been collected for it today. Will post a couple of pics later!
  4. Update! Got some new mud tyres. It does currently have general grabber AT2 on for general work. But needed a different set for a new contract that's come in. 12" wide. Need some new wheelarches!
  5. you could play the killer line. 'Im not angry, im just disappointed' thats worse than a rollocking!
  6. you could always cut a piece off the top end so they will adjust lower, like with bashlins the holes on them can be changed, im sure you could cut them to size.
  7. well, being that age a lot more recently than some of you, i used to drink but because of where we lived it was difficult to go anywhere i.e. had to get a lift of parents from anywhere. I can compare myself to my sister, and see how different we are, she went to college and mixed with the wrong people, basically chavs who hang round at b&Q car park at night for no reason and generally cock around! She went downhill, shes better now as she was 17/18. she isnt much better now though. But at least you can have a decent conversation with her now she found a job! i stayed sensible, when i did get wasted a couple of times, it was at home as we had the space to, however after getting alcohol poisoning and two horrible hangover days, its been enough to steer me away from drink and now if i do go out with my mates, it will be to the pub for a few hours once every few weeks and ill drive and just drink shandies. then tease them saying ive had 5 pints and im fine! haha. I think you made a good call plippy, there is a fine line between being the dad nobody likes and the dad whos cool. Ive had kids who are 12 coming up to me and saying 'ere mate can you go in dat shop and gerruz sum fagz?' to which i say no and just say ive got socks older than them. Dont waste your life! id rather tell a kid to go do something else than just no. even if its a group, doesnt bother me in the slightest what they choose to do but when they involve me i will give them an opinion!
  8. if you were experienced and aware of what might happen youd sever the rootplate first. Be safe guys
  9. You should add the toolbox, definatly on a 130 as your chip box will be bigger without overloading the rear axle! I can understand its a prototype and you should be open to all range of comments as there will always be something to say! If i was in the market for a compact work vehicle, if that had a toolbox instead of a chipbox and had a trailer suited to it i.e. a long chute which extended from the chipper to the trailer behind the truck, i would be looking at one.
  10. i have a 10ft one, bought for £500. 2.5m wide. It used to be an old generator housing so has two huge vents on each side which are now boarded over but arent air tight, a big hole at the top centre and an exhaust hole, never have a problem with condensation, its inside a workshop so water doesnt get in either! to fit a chipper in aswell id go for a 3m wide one andas tall as you can or youd be looking at moving the chute possibly whenever you wanted to store it.
  11. Google street view images are from 2009 so you can only get basic information. But I do find it useful.
  12. Looking at your last pics it looked like it did stand back up when it was a few feet long. I've seen rootplates that looked like they weren't going anywhere spring back fairly readily. It's something you just can't think "oh it will be alright" And even if it's only you stood near the tree. Your the one who's in harms way! Only looking out for colleagues. H&S is everyones responsibility
  13. Geez. That's something I wouldn't wish on anyone. If your lucky then the rope could get cut as it hit the chipper blades but it's unlikely it would.
  14. You should have settled the rootplate first! As you can't judge how much tension the roots at the bottom are under. You could have got half way down sending it and it could have sat back up as you were cross cutting it sending your saw skywards! It's roots did look knackered!
  15. Should be on a 130 with a bigger chip box. Wouldn't get much in that. With a towball you could tow a chip trailer. Looks pretty damn snazzy though!
  16. Here's the two krabs compared for skyhuck and anybody else interested
  17. Petzl sequoia. Love it.
  18. You can apply online Darren. There is usually a test centre somewhere in most cities. There's new cards out now. I have the basic card which means I can access the site but that's it plus I can do what I'm qualified to do.
  19. I only wish I'd thought of that! I paid nothing for the first two days!
  20. I too have a dremel attachment. Shattered one of the stones by catching it funny onthe chain. They are a good cheaper alternative but I don't think they are as aggressive as the bench mounted grinder
  21. When I did mine the people in there looked like they struggled to get their name right on a multiple choice. But they passed. I have a mugshot of a photo as they took one there
  22. Arbtalk has made a huge difference to my life too. The other half doesn't mind. She is asleep as I'm writing this message! I've learnt a lot about everything. Techniques. Legislation. Fungi. Shiny gear and also the guys I've met from here have been good guys. Yet to meet most of the other usual guys on here. But that will happen in good time!
  23. I got it from honeys less than 6 months ago. Bought another one and got sent a 3 way. It classes as a snap lock and it's used on a lanyard, or does that not make a difference?
  24. Yeah it's a new version which is a 3 way. They used to do a 2 way which looked te same only it didn't have the first small lock on the front. The two way is just press te back. And you can open the gate. The three way needs a really long little finger to work just as quick for me.
  25. Skyhuck I have one of those and their two way predecessors. They are a bit awkward at first I found as the two ways are really easy. I've stuck with the two way as it's quicker!
