  1. Cheers Tom. That's the bottom end. Got a good few things planted round there. Almond, noble fir, few cherries. Couple of young mature ash. Newly planted acer rubrum last year. Variegated Holly which looks good. We did have a eucalyptus but it was less than 5m from the house so in a drunken escapade a few years ago my dad felled it onto the washing line! We've also got a judas tree. Another Holly. 4 chestnuts. Some laurel. Lots of hawthorn and privet hedging. And not enough time to manage it all!
  2. Meindl airstreams. Loves em I do!
  3. You should have seen the guy filming it! (my dad!) It was in our garden. I'd finished what I needed and was messing around. Btw those boots are awesome for climbing!
  4. well its either i do or a monkey does! need to get this sorted quick sharpish, ill see what there is round the place, ive driven through before and there are some hoooooge oaks and a good selection of other non oak species
  5. well this was some of my time wasted today, was in the garden helping out and had to prune the sycamore so did this first! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1Kk0qkAxKU]YouTube - Leaf blower fun[/ame]
  6. you do know your not allowed outside your car? id only pull your wipers off anyway:biggrin:
  7. I know. We might be allowed in with the monkeys though? Wouldn't it be fun jumping on peoples cars! We should have a long zip line! Tensioned with a vehicle! That way ed doesn't hit the floor when he clips on
  8. I like peppermint tea! Not with milk though. Is that a Yorkshire thing?
  9. Huck we wouldn't be in the safari park unfourtunately. But in the grounds of Knowsley hall. I'll be doing a woodland survey there hopefully so I'll have the chance to have a look round at the place and I'll say we could deadwood ones we climb or something like that. You wish mr Spencer!
  10. Pruned a cherry for my grandad. Reduced it a bit and thinned it a bit. He was 'well pleased!'
  11. After the success of the last one. I've been wanting to have another somewhere. I might be able to get access to Knowsley park as we are tenants of there and they have lots of nice big trees and open spaces. If I can agree something with them who would be up for it? Putting some feelers out!
  12. He must have a special punishment bag in his truck! Haha. It'd make you work quicker if your with a bloke who threatens to tickle you and perform sexual acts if you do wrong! hehe
  13. I think it's rude to turn down a brew. If you don't want it accept it anyway and just pour it away when they aren't watching. Or if I don't want tea I just ask for water when it's warm. Better than having nothing! I've had chips sent up before now. That's about as generous as I've had!
  14. Some cup fungi growing at the base of a sycamore. These were taken on an iPhone 4 for whoever is interested
  15. A good rope to start with would be a 16 strand. Very simple ropes. Work well with a blakes hitch. And will accept other hitches. I use a Knut on mine and it works well
  16. The can influenced the damage! haha. It just died one day so we just towed it round the field for a bit! It was given a good mashing with a 3 ton digger as a send off so I was happy! It was given to me anyway and we had a good 4-5 months over the summer out of it.
  17. Learnt a lot of my car control in this beastie! 1.8 diesel so used red and literally battered it round the fields Oh yeah then we shot it!
  18. Christmas present. Take your road car to an airfield and use it like a race track! Cracking day it was! This is what it used to look like before it met a gatepost and I had to take off some stripes!
  19. both those prices are plus VAT! i would love one, but i dont even have a vehicle to drop in it to get it near its breaking strain!
  20. I've got a c1 myself mate. Good for city driving. You can get a lot of kit in them though! I've got a hilux. Insurance is through my dads company as it's essentially his vehicle but I've got use of it. I tried to insure it myself but no chance!
  21. Saw this over on honeybros Arborist Equipment - Tree Surgeon Supplies - Climbing Accessories
  22. You could make a noise. May not be English. But it may be loud enough! I have a whistle in my tool box. Keep a first aid with a very sharp rescue knife on my harness and 10 man first aid kit in the truck behind the seat. Along with a fire extinguisher plenty of paper towels and a spare hi viz vest. And a few choccy wrappers! I bought a cheap whistle from somewhere. Sends the dogs mad and is nice and audible!
  23. Hey whats wrong with red boots hehe I was choosing between the steins and meindls. I tried the steins on and couldn't get on with that hard insole. Left my foot aching after just trying them. I think there was about 30£ difference in price but I can't remember exactly.
  24. On now from 10pm to 11pm. Very funny stuff! Channel 4!
  25. Its a nordman fir, not a spruce Abies nordmanniana We sell thousands each year! We do have a couple in our garden which are a lot bigger than this and see these fungi 10ft away! So i would agree they are mycorrizal, as none of the other trees in the immediate area are showing any negative signs.
