  1. Gutted for you, having just spent the week doing my training I know how you feel. We have been told we will have the same saws (ms260) and to take our time with cuts, etc. Ultimately, its just two trees if you get it right. you should be able to grab fluid when you need it, as long as its safe to do so. Being "saw fit" takes time, Im a skinny bugger so kinda understand how it feels at the end of the day.
  2. Thats one unammussed hound!!!!
  3. Thanks, its not finished yet as its got to go most of the way round my leg, so two more figure to go. Handpicked by Adam Sage at Into You in Brighton. Yes, its a divers bottle, 300bar for my FAC Rapid7
  4. Looking good, do a search in google pics for other images. This is mine
  5. Think this is the way Im going to go due to us often having fires on site. Dont fancy putting holes in a nice (and possibly expensive) jacket. Ive been wearing my Berghaus Trango Extreme this week, but thats because I know we wont be burning!!
  6. After 2 days in the classroom/on site, weve now moved into the woods and started felling. Really enjoying it, and having the sun out all day was an added bonus!! Starting to really get my confidence now, helped by excellent instruction, hanging trees up nicely too
  7. Started my CS30 and 31 today at Merrist Wood, being instucted by Rob Wood. Alls going well, learning loads and trying to unlearn the bad habbits Ive picked up!!! The course is all this week and the assessment will be in March, so time for some practice next week hopefully.
  8. Yes, but, its a Landie and thats what you do, dont you?!
  9. Same basic principles mate, nice looking pup. Dean, nice pair of spaniels. I dont clip my cocker apart from her feet.
  10. Thats because hes a working cocker!!!!!!! They keep going till they fall over and die if youre not carefull. Try mental stimulation, its the best way to tire my ballistic missile out. Cracking looking dog though, cant believe you gave him steak!!! I know theyre little people in fur coats, but............
  11. Take the length of time you think it will take to do the job multiply this by your day rate, add on daily cost of insurance, vehicle costs, fuel, etc and you will be there. If you need others to work out how long jobs are going to take, then maybe youre not ready to be going it alone yet.
  12. Missed it, I was watching Silent Witness:biggrin: And I forgot this was on!!!!!!!!
  13. Gutting, I cant believe they can still find a market for all this stuff.
  14. Good news, glad youve turned it around and are enjoying it again:thumbup:
  15. Depending on where you want to work (town or country) you might also want to look at getting you chemical spraying licence, also dont forget 1st aid ticket, manual handling course, and possibly chipper. All good if youre looking at council or wildlife trusts for employement.
  16. Thats almost V8 territory, far from impressive.
  17. A decent groundie would make things look better too
  18. Totally agree, not in my top 10 of tyres to use.
  19. A couple of mates have these, both are on LPG, run great on and off road, so cant see why they're not practical. Shorter overall length than a Discovery, smaller turning circle than a 90 (power steering helps) and they cruise at a much higher speed than the 2b. All round awesome piece of kit.
  20. Take a look here, about halfway down the page PROTECTIVE BOOTS AND BRUSHCUTTER SHIN GUARDS Protective Clothing Buy UK
  21. Going on the year, it should be a 300TDi, unless its had a transplant.
  22. Mine comes to £856 all in.
  23. Theyre both assessment fees, one for the 30 (£110) and the other for 31 (£126) basically they need to shoot the proof readers they employ as this is one of the mistakes they made in the directory. The other is the astrix is missing from the course, which means you cant a reduction in fees So the whole lot is coming out of my pocket, God I hate this government.
  24. Very nice, but how much?
  25. Ive just got a pair of Arbortec ones from Honey Bros, cost me under £20.
