  1. i see someone has been practicing their felling cuts! they look as if they are about 8 yrs old those cuts,and also look as if they were done by a 10 yr old :lol:

  3. this karabiner is one i use in a work posistioning lanyard,so its not used as a main line climbing kara the drop was about 30 feet and the fall was slowed down by the branches,then the biner landed on grass/earth/?

  9. when it comes to climbing,i am still wet behind the ears,not like most of you awesome experts,who have been doing it for years:blushing: sounds like a stupid question,but when i was topping a large fir,yesterday! i dropped a biner,watched it fall through the branches and it had a softish landing:001_huh: should i now bin it or will it be OK BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY martyn

  15. if you notice the 1st pic of the beech! in the bottom left of the tree,there is a big stone,there may have been a wall there in the past,as the tree is growing around the stone
  16. cheers:thumbup1: they are along a wall/hedgeline so when the wall/hedge was there they would have been cut to the same height,would you agree
  17. walking the dog yesterday,and came across these trees 1st 2 pics are a beech 2nd 2 are a ash just curious because they are different to your normal everyday tree,where you get the straight up truck and then branches out! these just seem very dumpy and wide at the bottom and aslo not very tall for the species any idea WHY?
