  8. KESLA 303 - 304 - 305 - Loaders - www.kesla.fi ours is the 305 T 8.5 m reach you loose a little lift but gain in covering a bigger distance. as a addit please make sure if you are buying a crane you get the correct controls and spool vale to operate the crane, buy together as a package and /or use someone who has the knowledge.
  9. Who me? Not much experience of botex, except for taking my assessments on a scrounged one! I think brushcutter on here possibly has more lever time to compare cheers J
  10. call if you want, power = chips
  11. you can run a slightly wider band on the mizer range inc. the LT40 , i think you may need to fit wider guide rollers, the bands are also thicker in width and I am told cut longer straighter and last long, de barker helps.
  12. eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace a little work to do
  13. I think Jim has a couple at CALEDONIAN FORESTRY LTD - Catalog
  14. Check out if there are any help in grants before signing up for courses, you local college will have info on this, I think funding for land based skills is still available, you can not apply respectivly though
  15. no, with training yes
  16. no pictures but out at 01.45 tree across road howling gale me and the wife soaked, I sure know how to treat a lady to as good night out!
  17. I think wilsons were promoting the ‘harvadig’ at the last APF and since then in various magazines, quick conversion of digger to harvester and back , choice of base machine and high enough oil flow to power the head being the important factor
  18. ''I dont do firewood, my only interest is getting the trees down, chipping them and getting off site and seding invoice'' In my experience of site clearance, chip it and go, the only chipper for this type of work where there is possibility of dirty contaminated material and or grab feeding is the hiezohack range, how you get this down to size with mounting on a mog is up for discussion ( there was pre owned one about a short wile ago) not the fastest but always keeps going
  19. hucks ex front mount @ acp's is an excellent, and reasonable in price, way to start off, not to heavy, sufficient capacity to chip most brash, simple and therefore easy to run, if you really want to stress control can be added to it but with the power and size of chipper it is not needed, you could do a lot worse than to start of with this, worth considering, good luck
  20. I have a 12" towed Bandit... not stopped yet. It throws conifer a good 20' Steve 20' ? is that all ?
  21. seem to have lost the pics above:confused1: so try again
  22. Steve good to see you to, machinery, coffee and cake next time:001_smile:, spent the next am at acprice ( wife even more time out) and on to the waterfall walk at ingleton for the rest of the day. Benmore has a lot going on and will be with the current plantings a superb place for our children and grandchildren to visit, bridge over fallen tree in f.c. site adjacent,There really are some impressive trees here massive columns of timber growing in the sheltered valley on the deeper soils
  23. The one above Scots Pine with rot in the trunk, I believe talking to some staff there it was under review as to how to remove it with limiting damage, more astonishing are the other 2 I think were sitka with solid healthy trunk just broken off ! incredible force and in a semi sheltered place
  24. Amazing force of the gale just braking trees off, there was a lot of evidence driving round this area of wind damage, some flowering shrubs giving good colour at this time of year poss just a bit early for some of the best colour I guess
  25. Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh - Benmore Botanic Garden benmore botanic garden - Google Search A recent trip up to Scotland to try to catch up with a boat and to try out my new (to me) vehicle gave me the opportunity to visit this rather good botanical garden, we spent a whole day there with a short excursion across the other side of the road to a Forestry Commission trail through some impressive trees, and to a F.C. planting trial started in ?1930 I think trailing differing spp. To assess suitability for planting the ‘strategic reserve’ I guess. an avenue of Redwood p 1863 50 planted 49 still there! I’d bet some local authorities would like that success rate, is one of the features of this site, excuse me for being lazy but links above to the gardens show much better info than I can remember, shame storm damage earlier this year, and a good excuse to go over the ferry to say hello to Steve.
