  1. Just as well that didn't catch him under the chin
  2. I wouldn't do any further work for them ie remove the stump until the tree has been paid for. There is no reason not to pay this if the work has been done whats to say they are going to pay after the grinding? They sound like jobs worths who are not worth working for stand your ground and get your money . Best of luck with it.
  3. Felix has one he will be along soon
  4. Have you got her to try a scooby? Mine wasn't too keen on driving the legacy but loves driving the sportwagon although frightens the life out of me!

  11. Thanks Ted, Yes would of been easy to clout the guy I am a big bar steward and stand 6ft 7" but instead of now enjoying my afternoon I would be answering questions down the local plod station. His loss he has no wood and ended up looking the prat.
  12. This is the embankment, you can see the ground has been washed away by the fence posts at the top.
  13. Thanks for the replies chaps, Decanted the bags and delivered 3 tipper loads of them so far. 1st customer put kettle on and had cuppa with home made cake the 3rd gave me a tenner tip. Bad start is turning into nice day plus the sun is now shining. Have a good weekend people!
  14. Had a half decent quantity of bulk bags split seasoned oak to be collected this morning. As I don't personally know this guy my terms are cleared funds on collection which I feel are fair. Guy turns up with no cash or funds. I politely say I'm sorry I'm not prepared to start loading until funds are either in my account or here. This chap starts threatening us started on my Dad threatening to slap him then decides to block the yard off with his wagon and said he won't move until we load him. I told him to bugger off I'm not interested in doing business with you now find some one else to supply you. Ended up having to call plod to get him removed. Could do without this at the weekend. Part of me feels bad for not allowing him to post me on a cheque on the other hand I stood my ground, that is the terms of my business (log sales) take it or leave it. Any one else had such incidents ?
  15. I need to re-instate some banking about 25ft long with a small stream at the bottom. I have seen some metal type shuttering used at my local canal anyone know what this is called or where to get something similar from? Any other suggestions the customer doesn't want wood or concrete gravel boards.
  16. Never drink on or before the job! I was referring to get yourself a glass of red and read the thread on micro chippers. For me it's 'rose' and the little 100
  17. I don't get these posts asking what price to charge etc. Surely its a case of working out your overheads, how much you need to earn a day and how long the job will take.
  18. Christ your good thought you would never guess!
