  1. Couple pics from last year....
  2. Big machines and chainsaws!!
  3. You will be fine if you don't have the auger. Yours looks like the mini pro do doesn't have auger just the vibrator.
  4. It was the red road grit that buggered my auger up it contains stones some pretty big. If you get rock salt that exceeds BS3247 -1991 they work really well.
  5. Is that plough the one from simminotes? If so any good as after a small one for the disco. Do you have to raise and lower it manually?
  6. I have had issues / problems in the past mainly faulty control box and a stone getting jammed in the auger, I wouldn't go any smaller than the 1575 as this has the auger feed and vibrator it will handle damp salt, Just make sure you use the BS grade salt and you shouldn't have any problems. I really like mine it takes just seconds to hitch up. If not snow ex I would go for the logic trailer or bed mounted with the honda donkey engine they are 3 times the price of the snow ex though.
  7. That's smart, Do you find with that spreader the salt has to be very dry? I have a couple of shopping centres with weight sensitive upper levels where the tractor can't go the rtv would be ideal for that.
  8. There is a pto spreader on that tractor already. I have to cover a fairly large area so be far too slow with just a tractor. Majority of the time it's mainly gritting so can cover areas quickly with the ranger plus all the salt, hand spreaders etc go in the buck.
  9. That's ok for small sites, I normally start ploughing and my dad goes around spreading behind me normally one site behind find its the quickest way for us to get to all sites done.
  10. No not really I use the tractor for yard duties and log splitting so had it anyway, The ranger is my main work truck log delivery vehicle.
  11. Any one else do snow clearance / gritting? Let's see your setup .
  12. Yes I don't agree with all the cuts including cutting the police, You hear conflicting stories from both sides I just believe in this day and age there must be a more proactive way of getting your points across rather than striking. I think all the Emergency services should be treated fair and paid well for the jobs they do I just personally think striking is not in the best interest of public safety.
  13. Well I now have to work until I reach 70 to gain state pension I won't be fit enough to climb trees at that age, do I stand outside the dole office with a fire stamping my feet no I get on with it. Also some newly signed up fire fighters are striking when they are aware of the changes before joining? You are paid more than the soldiers I know of a family who's dad was serving in afghan and on his return he was covering the strike I'm sure he would much rather be with his family? Then there's the nurses..... Just my opinion, We all have one :-)
  14. If the strike was not taking place could a engine of got there those few crucial miniutes earlier?
  15. Perhaps when two friends of your family die in a house fire on the day of the strike you may think differdntly.
  16. No problem with the fireman in our trade , but what I can't understand is when you go on strike you put us (general public) in danger your gripe is with the government not us so please go and blockade or something in the city and don't put our lives at risk, Rant over :-)
  17. If it's to be run off hydraulics the Browns is a good strong splitter they are on offer at around £900 at the moment.
  18. Love the no. Plate
  19. It's a dog eat dog world out there, Eat or be eaten!! Fair play to those who have more than one job if you are good at what you do you should always be busy regardless of trade.
  20. 550 xpg lovely in these cold mornings
  21. Mines the bigger version it's ok on lawns but not great. It's brilliant for car parks, tennis courts etc. I find the best thing for large grass areas is to use the ride on.
  22. The recent doggy landrover thread was quite amusing
  23. Do you mean the two big girls Chris and Paul or the sexy girls thread? :-)
  24. I would ask yourself if you really need one mine just comes out every now and again they are only really any good on hard surfaces. I just use a lawn mower and a BR600 blower for lawns and beds etc.
