  6. Nice to see that I am not the only one out there feeling like this, managed two days tree surgery in the last month! But some is better than nothing in the mean time staying with the clubs for abit of income and been gardening for the last two weeks Which has been a real boost! Just try to remember there is always someone worst off then you are with no job and no qualifications to their name, must admit I am grateful that I am not in the same boat as that crowd.
  7. Hello everyone, As the title says really would like to try and pin down some work, In the middle of a work placement year from myerscough college but up until now I have managed to keep my self busy in tree work. Lately the people I have been working for I think are struggling to get work themselves hence why I have come on here a drum some more up. I have cs 30, 31, 38, 39 and chipper tickets experience of using MEWP's as well as which I have not long come home from working in vienna which was fantastic!! I am really eager and enthusiastic to gain more experience I have my own climbing kit which I am constantly adding too more and more and I recently purchased my first top handle chain saw. I would be willing to move anywear in the country loding in hostels and the like to gain good experience and I dont ask for alot of money in return. I have a full uk driving lisence with no points or convictions and also have my own transportation Please give me a ring on 07891024418 Regards Alex
  8. Already tryed the effing blower and emailed a cv before posting on here but thanks for the advise, and ringing over the weekend about work I am sure wouldn't go down well
  9. hello, I have 30, 31, 28, 39, and chipper tickets, would love to work in and around london, please pm me or call me on 01704 500972 otherwise i will be intouch next week regards alex
  10. Nice one gang will defo email the details jess, thanks again everyone
  11. Wasn't sure why you looked like otherwise I would have done but really rekindled some enthusiasm for the industry for me, starting to get a little tired tho now lol
  12. just wanted to say a massive thankyou to everyone that helped me out over the two days as I had no intention of staying the night or even competeing..but even so I had a fantastic time and a special thanks to jess for sorting me out with some gear to sleepin and everything else!
  13. not to bad i found the most expensive thing was supermarket shopping to be honest with you 1 carrier bag and 40 euros later felt like i was walking out with my pants around my ankles! But apart from that I didnt notice it to be more expensive than over here!
  14. even though I am at myerscough college this wasnt even mentioned last year lol, thinking of heading over tomorrow what time does it usually tend to kick off?
  15. always a dicie one down at the riverside no back up for miles around! But yeh would love to say come on fella's give the lads that need experience a chance but at the moment from what I can gather in my area not many people seem to have enough work to satisfy themselves never mind anyone else, going back to the topic though, the pruning modules which we study are very informative, and give you plenty of guidence as to what you need to do in the tree but I find that once your up there every situation is different so until you have some good experience of it then its hard to know what will look good from the ground where everyone else will see it!
  16. going to the point of work placement on the ND I am at myerscough and my group are the last that will go out on ayear placement, and i think one of the reasons for ascrapping it is the fact there is very little work for very inexperienced lads in the UK, hence my post at this hour as i have just got in from the one steady job i hvae in a nightclub! whihc frankly gives me no arb experience and I am beginging to feel my placement year has been an utter waste of time
  17. the hot chilli bird pretty much set my face on fire out there, i miss that place!
  18. THat canter is in the trading places forum about half way down the page
  19. av got some pics if i get round to it later i will post them up!
  20. did three weeks myself with damo top notch bloke and like the original post says support was great! Also rather hvaing a lack of experience the amount i learnt was impecable so big thanks from me to you and the gang!
  21. True enough mr walker maybe my statement was rather sweeping about the money aspect but I don't know wether you heard that company in auz turned out to be a bloody nightmare for the lads that went to them and as fir placement abroad they are there even tho mine was very short term! But chatting to a lad on the ND at Liverpool myerscough he also said they are short on applications with as little as 10 so far this year
  22. we also were promised that, but unless you had about £1500 -£2000 of mummy and daddy behind you then abroad wasnt an option so you just get chucked on the scrap heap by college, luckily managed to sort myself out with a placement, but even so myerscough seem to have a habit of promise with no follow-up!
