  1. Bought the missus an audi tt 02 reg for £7.5k from a trader in manchester and have had the car 15 days and just discovered the clutch is ruined and slipping real bad. Dealer won't refund or repair he says:confused1:. I have now been put on to an independent engineer who told me the following info. From the date of purchase you have 6 months to reject the vehicle if a major defect arises and it is up to the dealer to prove the car was in good condition when it left the garage, not vice versa. My stress over £1k worth of clutch work completely dissapeared when the engineer said if the garage refuse to do the work within 14 days of my letter sent to them (which i posted today) He will carry out the work and sue the garage for payment. . If this message saves one other person the stress ive had for a few days then its been worth posting. Top info to know. I refrained from naming the dealer on here so as not to antogonise the admin:001_rolleyes: but if you live in manchester or are ever going to buy a car from over that way PM me if you want and i will provide the name of the garage as a heads up on what these guys sell, which is sheeite from experience.
  2. If you take any larger bits off it im sure there are a few on here would like a bit if you are close by them for turning. Might win you a mate or two eh:thumbup1:
  3. One life! Why spend it spannering a land rover. The british army dumped them for a reason did they not?
  4. Seems only a matter of time from that post. Be careful!!
  5. Forgot to lift the jockey wheel for the 87th time:confused1::confused1:
  6. I know a regular on here who blew the west coast main line and caused about £300k of delays etc.. and blamed someone else ha ha. If your'e reading this and feel guilty PM me........you know who you are ha ha!! Trees and high voltage powerlines dont mix.
  7. Not sure how many go on the web site arbjobs.com but ive been looking at it and there are lots of jobs on there all over the country. Im not trying to plug the site at all but if there are people out there who have never been on you should take a look. Good hunting:thumbup1:
  8. Well neither obviously but its quite a bizzare question. Probably drowned because ive never seen CPR work on a person whose brain is destroyed Not that im condoning anybody carrying out CPR on a rat though ha ha
  9. Im a trained level 3 swift water rescue technician and thus know a tad about drowning and the physics behind it. Its instant the minute you breathin. Yes i am en expert on it
  10. Very interesting thread. Drowning is as instant as an air rifle shot and rats and greys are vermin. Swtting a wasp could be said to be cruel but we all do it. If you ever see the movie food inc. it will change your mind on what is humane or not but it didn't stop me tucking into beef, chicken, and pork so im guilty of being inhumane too:blushing:
  11. Plus if that tight git mozza is donating i'd be ashamed not to
  12. Not really doing arb much now but still keep up to date with the site and hope he gets well soon. Once an arborist allways an arborist. £10 donated and hope he recovers fit and well.
  13. See the post below yours right now mate
  14. With you all the way on that ha ha:biggrin:
  15. Fix Or Repair Daily is the old ford saying i believe. Bad times:thumbdown:
  16. Needs a minimum of a 50% reduction IMO:lol:. Sorry im on the vodka
  17. Thats how we met gilliam:lol:. Meet at midnight, web cams on just like old times
  18. Ha ha big up yer own ass why dont ya Ive found in life that people who are shi'ite on the tools etc.. end up being promoted to manager for some reason. I have allways heard voices telling me to shout at the manager and tell them they know nothing (As well as the voices which tell me to wear dresses). Who am i to deny them
  19. Its all about the person. Give me a keen 5 year guy who takes pride in their work over a 20 year man who is beyond rules any time.
  20. Agree on the time scales but it also has to be a person doing a variety of work and who is keen to do it. Ive worked with people who have been at it many years and are useless/dangerous at what they do. The degree thing wasnt meant as generic but usually if someone has taken the time to get a degree they are keen was what i meant
  21. i used to be 37% skilled but its diminishing by the week ha ha. Climbed a tree other day and s**t mi pants doing it liam
  22. To be fair i think just your basic NPTC tickets and a couple of years under your belt doesnt really make you skilled IMO. The people who have the degrees and diplomas and many years experience are the skilled workers. It takes a long time to learn and master. Can of worms now open I consider myself 23% skilled
  23. One life.............................. why spend it under a land rover? Buy jap.
  24. I think a quick bit on how not all trees and weeds are safe to touch would be a good idea too. Its a topic i dont think they cover in schools to my knowledge but very relevent to inquisitive kids over the summer in my humble.
  25. I thought this was a post about mozza's driving ha ha ha:lol:
