  7. after a used one ,preferably a smallish one as 3 days of the week i work for other people , so something around tw 125 size as storage is getting tighter ! i dont wana waste money and get a heap of crap but i dont wana spend loads for something im gona use for just a couple of days a week , im sure there used to be someone who specalised in smallish chippers but cant seem to find them anywhwere . im sure they used to advertise in earborist ?
  8. hey guys any one had any experience in these chippers ?? any good or not ?
  9. not quite as impressive as nearly being decapatated by an aircraft but i remember being in the woods felling some pines when one of the guys shouted over that he wasnt feeling to hot and was gona have to toddle off in the woods to empty himself ,"lovely we all thought" about 15 minutes later he comes back looking a bit sheepish and explained that halfway through his call of nature 2 horse riders rode up through the trees on a footpath he never saw and caught him perched up against a tree with his kacks round his ankles " , in fits of giggles i said to him "well what did you do " he said "well what else could i do !!! i put my visor down and pretended they couldnt see me!" lol:thumbup1: i guess you had to be there but every time i think of it i have a little chuckle .
  10. hi nepia , no it was up in tunbridge wells , that would be a dream to get work that close !lol:thumbup1: to be honest i quite enjoy going a bit further afeild next week im in ashford that il be an early start
  11. thats a bit odd ? i know two guys that have just got work with them and there pretty much straight out of college , maybe its worth trying again ? you never know someone might have left since you last tried just a case of perserverance . what about "the tidy tree company" there based your way arnt they ?
  12. id just like to clarify my names actually darren , my dogs called jack though !!:thumbup1:and my mate in one of the pictures is called jack ! didnt think defenderdarren sounded right anyway just thought id clear that up
  13. have you tried chaffins ? there always recruiting ,moneys not that great but works work and you get cheap kit through them ? worth a shot

  15. ha lol:001_smile:nope no cardboard involved ! maybe some gaffa tape ! but definatly no cardboard
  16. :001_smile:just thought id share my thoughts on the last few days work ive had ,not the best pictures but just a few random ones i took while trying to keep warm Weve been deadwooding around 14 oaks that hang over "potential picnic areas" . I have had such a good laugh with my climbing buddy jack that it really doesnt seem like work ok so its not the most exciting of jobs but what more could you ask for than to be driving the landy round the woods ,climbing trees , no one on your back ,no general public to wind you up (apart from the odd dog trying to nick me sandwich ) but all in all had a cracking few days climbing some beutifull oaks !!!:thumbup so heres to another 3 days next week doing the same !! cant wait :thumbup1 i couldnt think of another job id rather be doing !
  17. without straying from the point to much , it doesnt half wind me up that you can get your tickets paid for if your unemployed and you can pop into the job centre i was 27 when i went and got mine and it took me 2 years to save for it working full time doing ANOTHER job to get there ,i have a family a 3 year old daughter usual rent bills and other crap and got sod all hepl with funding , im not asking for the violines to be played and maybe im just a little jelous but my advice would be get another part/full time job in the mean time and save the pennys instead of sitting on your arse moaning about it ! sorry if that seems blunt but theres allways someone worse off , ! i hope it works out for you just keep perservering
  18. theres also a 170 6x4 on landrover owner international site , 3 way tipping body large tool locker ,super winch etc 1998 plate , looks well smart !
  19. if the origanal engine is still in it then id imagine its probaly a bit tired ! but i will probably still reach nearer 7-8 grand ??
  20. sounds spot on to me but i think the most fustrating thing is that generally its not enough in terms of the job itself as you can go get a job washing up in a pub while listening to your i pod for 60 quid a day :confused1:which i guess is why some guys think they will be earning more for swinging a chainsaw around (which you probably should be) but life just aint like that
  21. had one in the end of my finger and my whole hand went stiff , tried digging it out :thumbdown:and made things worse so ended up in A E and had to have my finger cut open and it was just under 1 cm long ! my god the relief when it came out !
  22. couldnt resist seeing as everyone is ! :001_smile:so just ordered some hope they live up to expectations now !!
  23. oooh bet that tickled a little :thumbdown:there probably be a ticket you have to get soon ,cs 1001 use of a silky from rope and harness !
  24. sorry mate :_smile:besides no one waves at disco drivers im not sure on cost of new seat rails but im sure its not alot , and if you gona get a fender at least it will always give you your money back if you decide to sell it but on the other hand for 2 grand your have a beter choice with a disco ! , i shall keep my peeled !
