  1. yeh when a say small trees i mean small trees like pruning friut trees etc and hedge work ,that are within the capabilities of a gardner but as with every job sometimes something bigger comes up that people dont want to turn down (wrong i know) he does have insurance but i doubt it covers for felling tees , i wonder how many people on here have there cs 40,41 (dismantling ticket ) and if you were to injury yourself taking a tree down would you still be insured as technically your not qualified to do so ? please correct me if im wrong:confused1: This has been an on going topic with the lad in eastbourne that died last year as he was dismantling a willow and hse are now saying he wasnt qualified to do so ? SO does this mean with a cs 39 you can cut a branch off but thats it ? its all very confusing
  2. yeh absolutly i agree , my freinds been a landscaper for a number of years an does small trees within his capabilities, but this week hes asked to borrow a saw to fell a poplar , ! it did make me a bit angry as ive spent thousands on training, equipment etc and then he gets jobs felling trees ? no qulifaications no insurance for that , it really is annoying that peolple think they can just cut it down just like that , needless to say im not lending my saw and im now doing it for him !
  3. i worked as a chef for years , and i can tell you right now that getting your food hygene cert is as bout as difficult as picking your nose ! so as with everything after you have it you dont neccesarilry follow it . people will still reach that little bit further with a chainsaw and accidents will still continue to happen regardless , because thats just life !

  5. on the upside at least its not on the paintwork but by the morning who knows ! , what a waste of a day the really annoying thing ids it was still wet with drips so i must have just missed them
  6. right ! i having a rant now spent today putting some new boards up on my landy , spent ages cutting out wheel arches and round bits and peices so there a nice tight fit , gave them a coating of weather proofing so they last a lttle longer , any way , just went to take the dogs round the block and some little f@<"$ers have graffited black spray paint all over them needless to say im not amused that and ive got man flu doesnt help ! I was thinking of slapping on a leatherface mask and prowling the streets with the 440 seeing as its halloween i might get away with it ! little sodding gits . rant over

  15. thanks joe , never really thouht bout price of splitters till this year now ive started to do more logs . that looks like a pretty good bit of kit , how thirsty are the petrol ones ? i do have means of electricity at the mo but not sure for how long ,

  17. yeh im not talking on a mass scale of a logging buisness just something to take the edge off swinging a maul , i pretty much work for myself so its just to do half a dozen loads every weekend , surely i dont need to spend 3 grand
  18. hey guys , thinkin of getting myself a splitter as got good demand for logs now and would like to make life a little easyer , not after anything too fancy a few hundred quid if poss electric or petrol ? whats a good make to go for thanks peeps

  20. yeh your still on line but i think you mention the word mitsubishi and all the die hard landrover fans turned theres off ! never seen one myself ?
  21. yeh very true , ! although i must say my b reg had tyres more suited to a tractor on it which didnt help the speed issue but at least i got to put one of those stickers on it "you can go fast ! i can go anywhere!"
  22. 2.5 deisel isnt it ?i remember mine i had , good strong engine but it was quiker to get out walk up the hill !

  25. paid £4000 for it only got 78,000 on the clock too so i dont think the previous owner really knew what he would be able to get for it , it was only on ebay for a couple of days before i snapped it up ! drives just as good (if not better ) than my td5 did
