  1. Be careful you dont have all your eggs in one basket. Do you know if they pay on time
  2. Sorry to hear your grief. Only one thing you can do in that situation is rise above it. If you had family with you different matter. When its motors or metal observe and report. I saw similar thing in supermarket car park happen to some one else this week. People seem to run on much shorter fuses these days, part of it can be put down to recession or break down in society. I believe in Kama and theirs is probably just around the corner. Not a great advert for his business was it.
  3. If was older it would be cheaper to repair especially pre 99. if it was newer it would possibly be more reliable. early common rail stuff can give alot of grief. sorry to hear its being a pain with the work done it may be spot on and with low miles and good condition at least it was worth putting the money into it.
  4. works well for me as my generator customers are large companies and can claim the vat back. My log customers only pay 5% so win all round especially with the amount of toys I buy.
  5. If you buy a vito around 06 in metallic they seem to fair better. It could be the white ones are made in spain the posh ones Germany. The cars were rot boxes around 98- 2000 seem much better before and after
  6. Steer clear of the merc vito .Just sold an 04 plate unbelieveable rust otherwise excellent with the 150bhp.
  7. I tend to get 5 -10 loads out of chain and bar. May be worth hand sharpening and then every few weeks true up with grinder. Be very gentle with grinder as you will blue chain and then not be able to sharpen by hand. I am having problems with chain oil turning to jelly at the moment may be due to water getting in the breather on oil tank. I am thinking of pressurising tank to 6 psi with a 12 v pump and regulating with valve. Reliable oil supply at all temps is essential for bar life. are you using proper bar oil.
  8. If you have 62 cu metres you should have 10,106 logs. If it was beech I would expect to get 42 cu metres out of 26 tonnes. I think the common calc is 1 tonne off green beech turns into 1.6 cu metres of loose logs.
  9. About £200 + vat from large tree. about an hour to fit or two if you smoke and drink alot of coffee.
  10. Try going to Nissan they will ignor you if you are in jeans or a suit
  11. Plenty of imagination just short by 250k . I will drop in when you open
  12. I thought poly tunnels were like mushrooms they appear overnight.
  13. That looks ideal as a wood burner show room with area for log and kindling sales.
  14. Just think of the 200k after tax you earnt. Time for a new processor.
  15. I know the answer and tried to explain but I dont think you understood. You tried to explain now I dont understand ( especially where the sand comes in ? ) but I am sure someone on your wave length will be along soon.
  16. And you need to buy the bags from them up front but I dont think they pay u up front. 8 logs in a bag I get 30 bags to a cubic metre. I tip a cubic metre for £80 but I have to deliver for that
  17. Not every thread. Perhaps I should pack up and live off the tax you pay when you start selling logs next season
  18. You can check it simply by measuring the space on the wagon. to get 18 tonnes of beach on a wagon you need 8ft high 8ft wide 24ft long. on this I look at turn over of £2400 half of which is left after fuel and expences. So after paying tax I get £900. Alot of work for not alot of money imo
  19. Hi Mikey thanks to your advice I went for it. I would say it is ten times better than I could ever have hoped for. Makes me wonder why petrol saws are so popular. I have only used my ms390 twice in 6 weeks and that was for some 18" stuff. I would say the ms220 has more torque at lower speed and seems to cut better than alot of petrol stihls I have.

  21. If the cord goes much over 12" you need a six way splitter and some way of lifting the cord on to the infeed conveyor.
  22. The wife thinks 10- 12" is ideal
  23. I sometimes get the feeling the time we save on the processor we spend screwing it back together. I can do a lot with our stihl mse 220 and a vertical splitter. Processors are good but not the be all and end all. The latest 47cm stuff needs alot of other kit with it .
  24. If you get a few jams try working down hill or lifting the end of machine with a plank under the rear foot. Do you find the latest guards on the in feed a pain. I give the ram areas a spray of cheap Wd40 every hr or so and when finished with machine stops splitter rusting.
