  1. When I hear about huge loads of logs cheap I get the phone no. They are normally called old fred or similar. Ring them up and save them fuel by buying all they have. 9 times out of ten they dont excist and the customer is trying to haggle or you find the logs are rubbish or more expensive. a cube is 1000x1000x1000 a builders bag 800x800x800 is 0.56 of a cube or just over half a cube . You need to measure your bags 200mm make a huge difference.
  2. Not yet mate but thanks for asking. Bought a trailer with timber crane so hopeing to get a load delivered to a neighbour then forward here. Not great due to double handling but better than renting another yard.
  3. Sounds good to me £30 standing £45 at roadside £80 delivered in we all going to be millionaires all I got to do now is find customers who will pay £340 for a double load of logs. Good to dream but the gas and oil has not run out yet time we all got real:lol:
  4. Next week on ebay " wooden ladder in kit form, can now post as in 10" lengths "
  5. 5kg of cedar kindling would be a very large bag of kindling for £2. we use 50X40 nets and put a good quality pine par in them comes to 4kg. Builders merchant stuff comes to 3kg if its straight enough to cut into 6" pieces:lol:
  6. Asylum seekers will go to extreme measures to get in to the country.
  7. Dont worry if they dont get rid of the red tape they will make the people redundant who inforce it. 40 kicked out of swindon speed camera department today. They have finally worked out even fineing the working population millions they still cant cover the wage bill all you do is put people off getting up in the morning and going to work.
  8. I would say judging by the state of the cab on our 2140 we now own that tractor:lol:
  9. The only cedar I get is par for cladding buildings. Seems very light in weight I would think it would make good kindling. I think it is good for cladding buildings because of the natural oils it last for decades unlike pine.
  10. Potatoe boxes would be ideal but I have never seen any for less than £50 ea around here or on ebay.
  11. If you got a sturdy jockey wheel and left it down it would be good behind a Landrover and you could load it to 3.5 tonne
  12. I have a td which is 80hp and pulls well when fully loaded but I dont use it for towing. the early d4d were only 102 hp so check the engine is the higher one if you need the power. Torque and low down power with lower ratios are as important for towing than outright bhp. The world seems to have gone power mad. Do we really need more than 120bhp even pulling trailers. I think the reason they need so much power to tow is they have overgeared them for quiet efficent high speed cruising.
  13. They look like simple single pole micro switches. If they are weak you could try another make or slightly different design. Or to make life simple find the same switch and buy a few for £3 and change when getting weak. You could take yours to one of the rs trade counters to compare.
  14. our winters seem to start later and hit harder. In January when you look back on today it will seem like we were still in summer.
  15. I hate texts on my phone unless its short like a postcode or tel no. You can speak much faster than text and for us old gits we have cheap phone credit. I notice the people who demand the most texts send the least. So we make their lives easier but if you need a post code off them they force you to pull over and write it down:mad1:
  16. No probs. Are you planning to collect cord wood or use it for forestry work.
  17. Nice find. Been looking for similar for last few weeks and never even saw that. What sort of money do i need to find similar in the future if you dont mind me being really nosey
  18. No relays or rocket science in there. most bits should cost about a fiver from RS components or maplins. Look like standard switches for approx a 20mm hole.
  19. Sorry to here your loss. I am in my early fortys and lost my mum to cancer last year she was only 65 so I may have felt some of what you are going through. Time is great healer . Look after yourself and all the best.
  20. Looking at the front of the machine the adjustment is on the right. You adjust the amount the belt moves on ea stroke.
  21. I would love it but your 600 miles away and my tractor does 15mph so It would take about 7 days ea way to collect 7 tonnes allowing for refueling food and sleep. Even the demand for logs in Hampshire wont cover the cost
  22. Perhaps we could apply for a grant to buy the forests . With most of our gas due to be coming from russia any unrest in that part of the world or anywhere in between we could well need forests for heating. I would imagine a pipeline supplying most of europe would be a major target.
  23. Perhaps things have changed but a partnership did not have to register until you reached 140 k . Bear in mind we are not talking ltd company here. I am sole trader and vat registered so I AM NOT evading any tax due. I would say the original poster needs to seek proffessional advice rather than rely on here say.
  24. Hi Sutton
