  1. About to start same project with 40ft brick trailer.
  2. I found Landrover good at doing warranty work. think they have had alot of practice certainly did on our disco
  3. I dont buy in bulk and store I use a bunkering card with BP. Sometimes its cheaper than the pumps by up to 8p a litre but not recently. If you get a 1000 litres delivered in you need a bunded tank and you will save 3p a litre max.
  4. Part of the problem is its not the gas oil we used to know. Its basically road fuel with die in it. You may have problems in older plant because theadditives will shift dirt and block filters. You may get a slight improvement on performance but dont leave it hanging around for years it will go off.
  5. If someone is doing white diesel for 91p a litre could you pm a phone no I would be up for 2500 litres at a time. My bulk price this week £1.10 + vat
  6. The leds need to be gen 3 and from a reputable company like parasource. Forget the budget rubbish on ebay from china
  7. I know . You would think the single cab with a much bigger body would match or have a greater weight capacity than the double cabs but it does not and never has. My mark 4 gross kerb weight 2550kg unloaded 1750kg roughly.
  8. I bought a very clean 039 for £150 which came with a 18 or 20" bar and .0325 chain. Not really noticed an improvement in power but needs sharpening more and bar sometimes clogs with chip and jams. Thinking of putting 3/8 back on but using it for cross cutting cord in theory I should be throwing less wood into chip pile with the narrower bar.
  9. Minimum delivery is 500 litres I paid about 50p + vat at end of summer. They will not fill 205 litre drums.
  10. It has but if you look at the toyota specs single cab carries 700kg extra cab 1085
  11. Ideal for kids kindling and saws. Best truck for load weight capacity out the range.
  12. Sam can I ask a favour. If you find yourself next to your truck with a tape measure. Could you measure from the back of the cab to the end of the chassis. The extra cab has a better load cap by 500kg over the single cab. I am thinking of getting my tipper body put on one. I did a cheapo job on an old hilux with a new body with the intension of putting it on a newish truck if it proved itself. Its so far been indestructable but there is only so much abuse a 12 year old truck will take.
  13. I occasionally sub for a company that bought 2 new defenders with tranny engine. Both blew up at less than 10k. They had so much grief they now only use disco vans with tdv6 engines.
  14. I would describe four stroking as being on the edge of a very slight misfire due to being too rich. If the saw stinks of un burnt fuel in use you have gone too far. If the saw runs like a dream an revs like mad and cuts like never before it could be too leaned out. Its difficult to explain but if you cook a piston it all becomes clearer I would tend to run a bit more toward the rich side when running in.
  15. could you advertise your logs as fair trade now. I like to think of my self as a good business investing in people. The man that works the hardest in my business is well rewarded lives in a half million pound house and swans around in a Landcruiser.
  16. I think you could be right. What we are teaching the next generation is sit at home ( social housing ) do nothing and have lots of children. If you do nothing and take no chances you are unlikely to get sued or prosecuted. Middle england easy pickings for the authorities loaded or skint is the way to go.
  17. I think i have been on this. Easy jet have one goes between luton and stanstead when the planes wont start.
  18. Thats great service dave. Who needs to buy firewood a year before needed with service like that.

    New truck

I would go for a transit tipper body as you have the space. I had to get mine purpose made as you just dont seem to get small tipper bodies come up. Does it have a plate telling you the max kerb weight. This what vosa will look for.

    New truck

Does this truck stay under 3.5 tonne when loaded. You could get the tipper below fitted for 2.5k
  21. Problem is we may be getting quoted £75 a tonne but alot of timber is gained free from site jobs. Some sites just want the timber cleared. I ordered as much as i could get through the gate at £40 a tonne delivered. I doubt we will bother next year.
  22. The way i read your first post is the car was road worthy. No mention of legal and the police are looking into prosecuting you ?
  23. I thought you had a sale in low season
