  1. Is it your timber of choice for kindling. Do you have a stick I could buy to try.
  2. I think they have tom leave a certain amount to create habitat for bugs and things.
  3. I use round up bioactive from scats £54 for 5 litres. Not available off the shelf and you will need certicates or tell them you own a small holding I think you have to sign for it.
  4. Or sitka spruce if any one has some close by,
  5. Yes 11kw has 40kva genny written all over it. You may get it started with less but it wont do genny or motor much good long term. I have a 60kva and run a big 5kw dust extractor at the same time. Engine driven is more portable but noisey and expensive to run especially petrol.
  6. Mines leccy its alright if you know a generator engineer dont make alot of difference cant work it anyways
  7. I think all mine are on a left hand thread
  8. been looking for years but need a sample of pop to try first.
  9. I would say as much as you like 2 or 3 ft as long as the conveyor can grip it to feed in it would create less jams as well.
  10. Looking to buy a couple of tonnes to try through my kindlet. If it works a regular supply in the future. Can pop be bought in 8" cord or does it tend to get cut when much bigger. I need softwood that does not have to much bark or bark that falls off when part seasoned. Not too many knots and splits easily and cheap
  11. I bought the mizer to do that job but very quickly worked out if I was 5 times faster would still be on a losser. I can process 1 cu metre of planed timber in about 20 minutes took me best part of a day to do a metre of cord into planks then into 6" blanks. The woodmizer is great at making a valuable product but if you try and add too much value you over work it. I am thinking 10" cord with minimal bark and the right processor to make small logs.
  12. Wow I thought I was a bit green but never gave it a thought. I did plank a load of larch last autumn and then cut them to 6" but they were so tough on the kindlet and stringy they did not make great kindling not bothered since. Is there a saw mill guide for dummies . I will leave the oak till winter
  13. I have a couple of bits of oak and ash maybe 20" by 10ft long. A piece of oak 15" with all the sap wood rotted off. They were only bought for firewood so any mistakes I am no worse off. I have a couple of big bits of pitch pine which I may turn into kindling. If the timber has been dead and down years would you still wait till october.
  14. I am always interested in lengths of sawn softwood timber especially with out too many knots . If I bid on the mizer it would be a cheeky 2k if no one else was at all interested. I have a lt15 with elec up down I bought to make sawn timber for kindlet complete waste of time for my purpose as any band saw would be too slow for low profit work. Great piece of kit for more skilled products like beams or making things. when I have learnt how to use it properly then will then probably sell it as it has no commercial purpose for me. Marcus I would put a low bid in just in case it will be a long way for you to travel but at least you know the machine will be good as it should be new and unused so dont really need to view.
  15. I was told to put 15/40 eng oil in the hydraulics of our 751 bobcat its been in there 12 years so must like it.
  16. This one sold on ebay a few days ago. But often they are still available could even be the one in saturdays auction as Oxford is not far away. I dont need another woodmizer but if no one else wants it and it goes for a song I will put it in to stock. If anyone else wants to bid let me know and I wont. May go saturday for a look I am looking for sawn softwood cheap to put through our kindlet and a motor driven bench to cut cord into 6" pieces. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WOOD-MIZER-LT15-WOODMIZER-SAWMILL-BANDSAW-FORESTRY-/200932885031?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item2ec8888227&nma=true&si=2LWHrvxhvUZwrEryUkTN4XTJ2IU%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  17. Is there any other goodies
  18. If its in a house clearance type sale it could go for a song although the auctioneers are not stupid they will know what its worth and put a reserve on and find a specialist auction to move it.
  19. I see an lt15 with engine made 2009 must have been on here or ebay in the last few days not far from me.
  20. Why would you not mill it till October. Interested as I have a woodmizer and some sticks of oak and vurtually no experience on the band saw when I get time will be having a play. What would you make first gate posts ?
  21. Look on the bright side you will probably earn more than 2.5 k in the time it would have taken to log that lot. And we will now have a mild winter
  22. Known as the 3 little pigs of europe Portugal, Ireland,Greece, and Spain dont go there for work especially at the moment.
  23. You have met the other mendi plogs as well then Dean
  24. Its the colour of your money they are interested in not your van.
  25. No someone started the rumor on here and we proved it was not true so far.
