    Ms261 or 346xp

I've had a few tank fulls through my 550xpg (didn't use the 'g' part - too mild!) It's a beast of a saw! Quite hard to set it apart from the 346xp, but once the wood gets towards bar length, it does feel quicker/bit more torquey.
  4. It maps the internal condition of a tree’s stem by measuring the speed that sound travels in a number of different positions and directions. Sound travels fastest through sound wood and more slowly through decayed or degraded wood and the Picus Tomograph interprets this data to produce a visual image of the tree’s internal condition. I blatantly didn't google that and then copy n paste, well clever I am
  5. The old yellow entec I used to use - flying banana. what a piece of sh that was!
  6. Don't think the wind is working to bs3998.
  7. Nice one, pretty sure I've walked through that estate, it's not towards the river at zeeburg is it?
  8. OK maybe not over the cab but still deep! http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/firewood-forum/50970-i-will-not-doing-any-firewood-while.html

  10. That's bloody brilliant!
  11. Good job Steve, I see you must of been fairly local to me as the weather looks just as crap, lucky the rain didn't reach us today from the west.

    Ppe

My old boss's policy was wait til the boots leaked really badly, then replace them 3 months later (over winter aswell). If the new boots we wanted were over £100 we had to put the extra money in ourselves. oh and helmet wise, when the earmuffs no longer kept the noise of the chipper or saws out, wait a couple of months more. Won't miss working there. Luckily the next boss was awesome.

    Arb houses

That's beautiful - what i'm hoping to do in the future (buy land and build a wooden house) My truck is going to be as off grid as possible, if not 100%. 3 solar panels + wind turbine feeding the battery bank compost seperating toilet lpg for cooking woodburner for heat and (maybe) guttering for rainwater, then pump through filters to convert it into drinking water. Love the idea of low impact/off grid living.

  17. At the wassail we go to every January in Somerset at Wilkins cider farm, you pay £10 each to get in. For that you get local cheese, pickled onions and bread rolls, all you can drink cider (help yourself to the massive 6ft barrels ) and a great folk band to have a cider fuelled jig to. I recommend it highly, a great night out.
  18. Cool pics silky, I'll be there next year as I'll be living nearby. Hope today wasn't too much of a drag!
  19. 5 pints of proper cider is no laughing matter! Don't think the 4% lager crew would understand!
  20. Thanks everyone for the kind offers, but due to a good turn of fortune, i've just ordered a 550xpg from jonesie. Well happy!
  21. Arbtalk delivers once again! (within an hour aswell - where else can you get that kind of efficient networking?!!)
  22. Cheers could you pm his contact details? (if you have them?)
  23. A friend who runs a garage nearby can't get kindling from his usual supplier, just wondering if there is anyone in this region who can deliver to mid suffolk? Cheers
  24. Brilliant! Best way to combat a hangover is to drink more in my experience! Tomorrow morning at work will be fun for him
